Disappointing fight.... JMM is on the slide and 144lbs is too big a weight

Pacman needs to challenge himself and take on Martinez at a 150lb catchweight fight.

I don't think the weight will have anything to do with it to be honest. They could both weigh in at 140 or whatever and it'd be much the same. Still a good fight.

I like this fight....IMO PAC has come off just a tough while Martinez is still throwing combinations with speed and accuracy...it make this interesting

However please bring on Money v PAC :deal thats the fight everybody wants

It's still a decent fight but i would much rather Pac fight a young gun like Bradley or Ortiz.

JMM looked soft against Floyd at the higher weight and didnt seem to pull the trigger as much... Pac will walk through him IMO

Going on recent performances at or near this weight, JMM would have to fight the fight of his life to avoid being knocked out cold. I don't see it being close this time.

If Marquez has one great fight left in him it will be this one. Having 2 disputed decisions go against him.........he'l be motivated to the hilt for this one & lets face it as the 2 previous fights have shown.......styles make fights........and these 2 blend beautifully.

    yep, i agree

****ing Bob Arum is a greedy ****... this is not even close to a prime opponent... Pac should fight for a belt at 140, not like he struggles with the weight

    Tend to agree.
This is now the only fight I'm interest in seeing Pac in.

Since Pac fought Cotto I've had little interest in this fight and thought I was in a minority there. Pac is too big, too strong and I think it's just a no-win situation for him.

All in all though, I can pick many faults for him going with any of the other possible match ups around this weight as well. Essentially the guy is just too damned good and needs the Mayweather fight desperately.

I would love to see him challenge Martinez - win or lose he goes down in history even just for attempting to do it.

The other guy I could see him in with is Williams @ 147 - 150. That's a mega-challenge for Pac also given Paul's height and reach.

He needs challenges, not just record padding - though, it says a lot about him when the 'padding' on his record consists of Shane Mosley, Antonio Margarito and Juan Manuel Marquez!

Only Money Mayweather is viewed as a challenge :bbb

Marquez might lose, but it'll have nothing to do with what weight it's fought at. They're both around the same size. He might have struggled against Mayweather at a higher weight, but that's due to his style IMO.

Both of them will weight around 141-144lbs, so it'll be much in a muchness for mine.

It's a bit of a moot point anyway, from what I'm hearing. Marquez apparently turned down an offer.

Mosley would've been a good fight 3 or 4 years ago. Like I was saying way back when, he's shot. I'm still waiting for Contendo to come back in here with his tail between his legs after Morales and Chino was every bit as competitive as I said it would be... and this one flopped. :D Mosley couldn't pull the trigger.

There's still fights out there for Pacquiao to take. Marquez, Bradley at 140, Mayweather obviously, PWill at 154lbs etc. It depends on if Bob Arum wants to keep things completely in house like he has been for so long.
