Over on the Scene of Boxing, JMM said Golden Boy offered him a chance to fight Morales, Khan, as well as a WBC welterweight title shot at Andre Berto. Quite an interesting matchup I think. One which would give JMM a brilliant opportunity to grab a 5th weight division title (he can go back and fight for a light welterweight one after).

What do you guys think? Could JMM win?

(He also said he was going to discuss the opponents with Nacho before making a decision).

Berto is too strong and too fast...would knock out JMM within 4 rounds.

    Berto:
    Height: 5'8
    Reach: 72"

    JMM:
    Height: 5'7
    Reach: 67"

I think JMM handles his speed ok. The weight, reach and power would be the biggest obstacles. What is Berto's weight on fight night anyway?

jmm has to pick either khan at 140 or berto at 147 if he intends to bridge the division gap between him and pacquiao. if he beats either of them, then he can rightfully call pacquiao next.

I think he's already earned the right to call him out.

Ahhh **** that! I PRAY that fight doesnt happen.

I'd MUCH rather see Berto vs Ortiz.

Marquez has NO business at 147.

think about this, pac will knock marquez out 95% sure above 140, do we then really want to see it. the first 2 fights are epic. lets keep it like that. Marquez needs to forget about pac.

of course he has but that was 3 years and 3 divisions below. pac would not go down to 135 now just to give him a rematch and even at 140 it would not happen even if pac can still make it. jmm is not yet proven at weighs above 135 so pac fighting him at 140 or 147 would not give pac any legacy points. jmm beating berto at 147 would make jmm-pac3 at 147 a little more worth it.

i feel berto starts fast , there are two or three knockdowns in the first few rounds , marquez is hurt and surprised by bertos power and speed , around round 5or six marquez begins to time berto who is beggining to gas slightly , a few back and fourth rounds , marquez enters the last rounds more than holding his own taking most of them ,

berto by decision , poss marquez squeeks out a very close decision /draw

Whether the fight is contracted at 140 or 147, makes no difference. Because on fight night, Pac will stay weigh the same 148 pounds he did against JMM the last time they fought. JMM knows this, which is why he said he'll go up to 147 to fight him - knowing full well that Pacquiao still will not have any more of a weight advantage than the last time they fought.

i actually agree with this and this is also my point but you know that not all are satisfied with this explanation. we all know that jmm hasn't proven **** above 135 and hima nd pacquiao being the almost same weight on fight night will not matter when giving pac some props. jmm should at least prove himself above 135 while pac is fighting mosley.
