JMM vs HATTON 140

Marquez is an elite enough boxer to offset the size difference

 

JMM is not big enough. He saw that Pacman beat Oscar and thinks he can do the same moving up and fighting since he gave Pac a good fight, but I think Pacman is a very special fighter. JMM does not look like he can do it. I think Hatton overwhelms him. If that happens it proves how good Pacman was to accomplish that. A lot of guys do that in boxing. They do well or beat a great and they think they are as good as that person they beat or did well against. And they aren't . Barkley never moved up 30 pounds and won a title at cruiserweight.

 

I think JMM figures out Hatton's timing by the 2md or 3rd round and counterpunches his way to a UD.

it wont even take that long, his rhythm is easy to catch he doesn't move nowhere near as good as Pac and he still caught Pac's movement

i hope this fight happens, seriously.....

 

Er Jmm, Hatton can't win no fights

 

well he's 45-1, lineal 140 champion and bel holder at 2 weights, so for someone who "can't win no fights", he's doing ok

 

Not really seen enough of JMM at these weights to say how he would deal with the size difference.

Beating that version of Casamayor doesnt hold much weight with me.

Definitively beat Juan Diaz and thats tells us a lot more...If he could do that I would probably lean with him to outpoint Hatton.
Right now Ill go with Ricky to manhandled him and more then likely stop him.

 

im picking Hatton here:deal.... I dont buy that "Pac beats Hatton easily crap" .
JMM is good, but lets get back to reality. Pac beating DLH, was a little bit out of place..it wasn't supposed to happen. Now the trend is like "Lets jump a few divisions higher and beat the top guys!"atsch. Hatton will be too big and strong...:deal

 

This isn't English and doesn't make sense quite frankly! Can you name me a fighter at 140 with a better resume? Or even one that's really anything close?

 

This is very true, JMM is a great counterpuncher and has the style advantage but he's only just moved to 135 and hasn't proven himself overf a sustained period at that weight let alone 140. Depends whether he can hurt Hatton or not? 50/50 fight IMO.

 

It's completely dependant on how well he takes the pound increase. If he doesn't lose to much speed I can definitely seeing him being a bad match up for a come forward fighter like Hatton. If his power translates he should have enough pop to keep him at bay and I just feel he will outwork Hatton's and throw in the fact that Hatton should get tagged by amany counters come fight night.

I guess what I am trying to say its completely dependant on Marquez how it feels at 140, but I definitely see Hatton as a beatable opponent for him not easy mind you.

 

I don't say this with great confidence as for me Marquez is a vastly superior fighter to Hatton, but at 140 I think Hatton beats him. Sure JMM is campaigning now at 135, but he is no lightweight, he only went up to chase Pac and he only managed to beat Casa because he is so skilled. Against a strong natural lww like Hatton, JMM would be outgunned. Pac would beat Hatton by using his speed and explosiveness v Ricky's slack defence, I don't think JMM will have quite the same speed and power that Pac does at weights over 135.

 

I would be confident in Marquez. I really don't see the size difference as anything major. Strength maybe, but when there is a skill disparity like this, ultimately it will not matter. We've seen the downfall of picking primarily by this criteria recently.

 

Your probably right guess time will only tell will see how Marquez handles Diaz if he handles Diaz (which I think he will).
