I think this would be close one.....interesting to see if Hatton's weight advantage will be enough for the win, or if JMM can out-box Hatton.
yea fair enough but thats all politics.. you could talk about politics all day long it dont mean nothing... "hes got all the tools" what tools? it dont matter how many tools hes got, its a fight.. amir khan should of had all the tools to beat prescott if you look at it on paper, hes a bum from colombia hes only beat bums, khans faced better oposition he will fly through him.. its a gimme fight, frank wouldnt put him in with no1 dangerous... no1 on here saw prescott winning... its the same story for hatton marquez, hattons shot, he got rocked by lazcano, hes too fat.. marquez is p4p no1, he give pacman all he could handle, hes got all the tools to school hatton..
Marquez would win because he would out-box Hatton....because...he's a better boxer than Hatton is (fact - I don't think anyone would dispute that). Hence, he has the tools to beat Hatton. He is an excellent counter-puncher, and has superior footwork to Hatton, in addition to a big advantage in the handspeed department. If he stays out of harms way, not unlikely if Marquez so chooses, he can counter his way to a decision. The only way Hatton wins is to either (a) catch Marquez with a big shot from somewhere (ala Pac-Man, but with added weight behind it), (b) Wear him down with a high workrate., or (c) Marquez elects to go macho (ie: toe-2-toe), and gets his head handed to him. I lean towards Marquez, because I feel that Hatton's engine might well be running near to empty at this stage, and that he won't be able to sustain the workrate needed over the full 12 rounds in order to drag Marquez into deep water and drown him. If Marquez refuses to engage in a tear-up (no guarantee) he should take the decision.
Marquez is a great fighter. But above featherweight all he's proven is that he can beat Rocky Juarez, who is decent, and Casamayor who is a once very good boxer - now past it. Everyone else were little guys coming up. Unless Hatton is completely finished and can't beat Malignaggi, to say Marquez beats him is just craziness. Hatton wide UD, or late stoppage. It is Hatton's best option if he beats Malignaggi, and Pacquiao loses. It's a good fight for him.
I hope this fight comes about, obviously it would have to be made at 140lbs, so it would be up to JMM. Marquez was unlucky to get both verdicts against Pacquaio, i thought he won both, and i think it would be a good fight for both fighters.
If Hatton really wants to be P4P No.1, why not drop down to 135 and face Marquez. Not beyond the realms of possibility IMO.
:rofl Ridiculous. Since has getting wobbled in a fight meant somebody was 'nearly knocked out' ? In most boxing matches, using your logic, both boxers will probably 'nearly have been knocked out'
[YT]Be063W3VSDg[/YT] look how uncomfortable he is when you put pressure on him.. hes sketchy, hes not that good, hatton would murder the boy
Of course he would have to beat other fighters as well, but at least this way he couldn't be canned for beating up a smaller guy.....
If the ref hadn't stopped for a little tea break and to tie Ricky's little shoes at the convenient time of him getting wobbled it could have been a reality. The ref obviously thought he was pretty close to it even if you didn't.
Baileys, what is this? Have you flushed Roy Jones down the bog, following that passionate crush you had on him; have you got a boner for Hatton now? Whats this thing with you about devaluing a fighter; you don't have to call a guy like Marquez ordinary or a bum just to get the point across that you feel Hatton would beat him in a fight. It makes you look like you know nothing about boxing, because the vast majority of posters on this forum would tell you that he is quality, regardless how they feel about his prospects against another boxer. In addition Marquez has no problem with pressure, well as much as any fighter can have no problem. The Kd's against Pac were a combination of getting caught cold (1st round in the 1st fight) and getting cocky (in the first round and a half of the second fight Marquez buzzed Pac plenty and consequently got too brave and got put down - **** happens). If Marquez had so much problems with pressure Pac would have knocked him out in both fights.
are your trying to convince me marquez would win. "hatton would murder this boy aint meant to be offensive".. i think he would beat marquez easily, i aint gonna go into why coz you dont wanna hear it thats my opinion, hatton stops him :hi: :hi:
