JMM vs Hatton

Marquez beats him, probably knocks his ass out.
a lot of folks, myself included, think JMM got jobbed twice against Pac and make him p4p number 1...I have for quite a while now.
On the other side we have Wicky the wrestler, who may be bigger guy but that ain't enough. How is that gonna beat a top p4p fighter? Hatton's only chance is his own ref again letting him do whatever he wants.

That's right because if ever he did, somepeople would simply say whoever it was wasn't truly elite.

 

This isn't just an elite (urh!!) vs non elite thing, its a bigger man vs a smaller man as well. Contrary to what some people have said, boxing history is full of examples where fighters stepped up one weight too many and lost due to size being either the main reason or one of the main reasons.

Unfortunately Pacman is proving to be a serious ATG. I h8 it but I have to admit that he's very special. I don't like watching him, h8 his nuthugging fans but wow he's good. He reminds me of Sugar Ray Robinson (though obviously not as good)which at first seems ridiculous but i mean the Raw ferocious part of Robinsons make up and also the speed. Theres def similarities. I'd be interested to know if anyone agrees with me.

 

1. Hatton has a massive massive strength, he is very strong at 140 and weighs 155 on fight night. Marquez was fighting at Featherweight as late as November 2006, comfortably making the limit.

2. Casamayor was a small lightweight and 37 and he still won a load of rounds

3. So Marquez is a small lightweight and he can compete at that weight. At 140 hes going to be bullied by a stronger man.

4. Hatton's skills are quite underrated he's beat a skilled bigger boxer like Collazo, fighting a shorter/weaker boxer is easier even if they are more skilled. Winning 3 fights against Mayweather is no small feat, would the weaker, defensively inferior Marquez handle that type of pressure?

5. Marquez is 35 and lost to a featherweight in John legitemately in 2006.

My money's on Hatton by KO you can do what you want with your money

 

When has Hatton shown that he would crumple under a serious body attack? Or that the smaller JMM could hurt him or even stay with Hatton physically and fight competitively on the inside? Hatton has managed to impose himself on pretty much every light welter he's ever fought, let alone featherweights and too say he has "no defence" is a pretty big exageration.

At the very least these are all massive questions marks from Marquez' side but they just seem to be getting swept aside as non-issues.

to be honest mate i cant be arsed trotting out hattons record. you're british, you like boxing, you should know certain things.old ground.

 

I don't see how beating, or not beating, prime "elites" at 140 or 147 automatically precludes Hatton from beating someone like Marquez? There are only so many of these ****ing "elites" to go around, Hatton has fought 2 and is 1-1.

 

when you dismissed his win against tszyu as " lets face it, he was past his prime ". i just switch off. i'd expect it off an american or teenage poster,but you seem alright.
