Hatton was KO'd by Mayweather as much due to his desperation and reckless tactics as the power of the punch. Throw into the fact that Mayweather is incredibly accurate with his shots all night long and you have your reasoning. I predicted a Mayweather win on points, if there was to be a KO I saw it coming from Hatton via body shot. How wrong I was.......
And what do you think Marquez is going to do to him? Come out swinging? He'll be looking to outbox his wreckless looking ass too I'd call it more than steadied. He was wobbly for 20 seconds, and then got a rest...but I won't go into that one again. Against a better fighter and finisher he would have been toast.
That few seconds against Lazcano was nothing he gets buzzed nothing more and then comes back. I remember watching that fight in a pub and after the decision thinking "Nothing spectacular but a decent win and at least theres nothing for those whingers on ESB to moan about"...how wrong I was. It turns out Hatton was on the verge of being stopped, had to be rescued by the ref, was telling the ref. when to break the fighters....LOL!! I should have known better reallly......;O) Marquez will try to outbox Hatton but he's just too small to compete on the inside, some people around here would give Mr Bean a decent chance against Hatton if asked....;O)
To be honest I thought he was in fairly troubled water against Lazcano at one point, I wouldn't have been amazed if he'd gone down, even if it was a part stumble kinda scenario. Was worse than the Collazo fight IMO. But I thought Lazcano was very impressive on the night. TFFP's claims that this proves Hatton can't take a decent shot from a lightweight are, as ever, deliberately untrue, very easy to dismiss and all in all plain old bull****. As is all this nonsense about laces and referees, just silly little boy's stuff really. Totally detracts from any sensible discussion. The exagerration becomes really tiring, I've told him a million times about this to no avail.
As far as I can tell, it's clear to see that Hatton's last 17/18 rounds have been his most reckless. Whether you judge him based on those being his most recent, or take into account the reason why he was fighting like that is optional... The last 4 or 5 rounds against Floyd he put everything into offence as it was his only way back into a fight that was slipping away. And against Lazcano he was fighting a guy who he had to beat well and had to make it an exciting fight because of the 55,000 crowd and the homecoming that it was. He was throwing lead hooks from way outside, against an opponent with a considerable reach advantage, open to counters throughout that fight... I don't believe he'll fight that way against Malignaggi, and I certainly don't think he'll do that against Pacquiao or Marquez should they happen, as they are matches with a win being enough however they come about.
Yeah you've told me off a million times, how partronising  I didn't say he couldn't take any lightweight shots. Only that he was hurt by a lightweight last time, or at least a former one that is most famed for his work at 135. Which means I question him against good lightweight punchers. If you are hurt by one, I don't see how this is an absurd statement! So its you lieing this time Raymond.
Think about it you thicko, it was a joke Doesn't make sense. You're flustered and you're contradicting yourself. So Hatton can't take a punch from a 'former' lightweight. Well, that includes Oscar and Floyd for a start off, but what does that prove or even mean? Nothing at all. Lazcano is a Light welter, end of story. You said it was clear Hatton's chin can't take a good lightweight shot. That's far from clear, in fact the evidence suggests that's utter bollocks. Tszyu was a big, big puncher and Hatton took a barrage of right hands from him.
Yeah it was more like an awful point. Tszyu was 3 years ago now. In his most recent fights which are the most important when analysing his current H2H abilities he was knocked out by a guy that hadn't scored a knockout in 2 years, and was clearly hurt by a guy whos best wins are Jesse James Leija and Ben Tackie, whilst losing all of his biggest fights. Wow, you've knocked me down to earth there, Hatton's chin looks like granite! No way Marquez can hurt him.
The Mayweather KO was not a "chin" thing, it was due to being outboxed and exhausted. There much more evidence of Hatton having at least a decent chin then him having a poor chin, but you are just selecting to see the evidence that suits your point. You're pretty much using a dodgy 20 (or whatever) seconds in a 12 round fight to underpin this argument that Marquez could hurt Hatton.
Well this is a lesson in stating the obvious. I'm using evidence that suits my point...no **** I like to think of myself as the prosecution when it comes to this, and they don't often use evidence to prove the opposite of what they set out to. However, being totally objective here...what evidence am I supposed to use? They are his most recent fights, and it would be logical to take heed when it comes to predictions.
Well at least you are admitting your bias. I'd hope you'd look at all the evidence, weigh it up and come to a fair opinion, but its obviously not the way you look at Hatton "issues". Fair enough...;O) Being objective, why pick the last 2 fights? Why not the last 3? Or 4? Or.....?
Okay, pick the last 4, or 5. He got bounced across the ring by Collazo too. I pick 2 because its enough to say one wasn't a fluke, but also taking into account that things change quickly in boxing and its best to keep things current when analysing. I weighed up all the evidence GUILTY as charged on account of being susceptible to chin failure against Juan Manual Marquez :deal
