What the **** is this fight all about? The first fight was awesome but Diaz's relentless style was solved and turned on it's head. I understand both guys have lost recently but JMM lost to Mayweather at a RIDICULOUSLY HIGH WEIGHT and The Baby Bull lost to Paulie Mallinaggi FFS. Marquez hasn't got time for fights like this and Diaz is done at top level. It's a waste of time. What's with pound for pound entrants fighting useless fights lately? Get with the ****in program!
If its a ppv it is even more of a joke, Golden Boy are chancing there luck, Hope marquez isnt damaged goods after the Mayweather affair because he is a much better technician than the babay Bull who as u have said his pressure style has been solved tho Marquez isnt as speedy as Malinaggi and will have to spend more time in the pocket with Diaz than Malinaggi did
The thinking is as follows - Marquez is done. He's slowed and he got a beating in his last fight. He's old. Diaz still has a lot of milage, but the Marquez loss kept him away from the elite table. Yes, Marquez outfought him but he had to survive bad pressure to do so. Perhaps, a little older and with the first serious beating of his career under his belt, plus more **** drunk, he's going to be more vulnerable to that pressure - and Diaz can change his fight plan anyway. If he wins, his status is enhanced. Meanwhile, for JMM, he's got nowhere really to go right now with Hatton not up for fighting him and this is decent money for taking on a guy he's already beat. So for him, it's a no brainer. And for the fans? Perhaps a re-run of a FOTY candidate. Everyone's a winner. Or that's my take.
i agree except there's two ways for this to go: marquez hasn't dropped too significantly and he batters diaz again, perhaps even quicker, and ends his career at the elite level. or marquez is shot to **** and diaz is able to impose his will on an opponent leagues above him. either way, it's either a short fight or a sad one.
