Mainly because GBP is scared of Valero and his trainer doesn't want him fighting at 140lbs either against top guys.
I'll watch this one tentatively and then play close attention to what he says his plans are post-fight. I always love watching him work so I'm just grateful he''s fighting somebody, but I want him to become relevant again. Why didn't Hatton work out
You say that, but his own trainer does'nt feel the same way. The Pac team cant stop talking about how they have to wake up Pacquiao in the middle of the night to gieve him protien shakes so that he can keep the weight on to fight at welter...........but everytime the name JMM has come up as a possible opponent for Pacquiao, Roach wont end the interview without stating "Pacquiao is now a full fledged welter." .......of course, alluding to if a JMM fight happens, it happens at Welter.
He should fight Valero at 135 , the best fight to be made out there. And to be the first guy to kick that knockout machine ass would mean 10000x more than beating irrelevant these days juan diaz. Btw rematch with diaz is at 135 or 140?
I just think Nacho didn't like the smell of the politics involved in the Khan fight. With Khan being groomed as a GBP future thoroughbred, and Marquez with only a year or two of GBP milking-potential left, there was only one way that all the external pressure would be applied. I think Nacho could smell yet another contentious loss on points, frankly. Which is a shame as I think JMM could have taken Khan, even as old as he is. The Juan Diaz fight is particularly uninspiring, though.
