JMM UD... I dont think he would stop him.. JMM had one fight above 135 and hes getting older... Also maidana is a tough SOB!

Possible. JMM's technical prowess is elite, i see him getting knocked down a couple of times though.

Yeah I envision a UD as well but wouldn't rule out a TKO in the later rounds with JMM's incredible Body punching.

There might be some scary moments but Morales showed the power of Maidana wasn't that much the Ortiz and Khan Debacle made us over rate it.

Of course JMM gets knocked down. He always does. When -wasn't- he knocked down in a big fight?

But barring that, this should be a wide UD for him. Marquez has power as well, and a better counterpuncher than Morales. Maidana is way too wide.

I think he would knock him out. Maidana would have no answer to those crisp combinations.

Maidana is a bigger, and a much harder puncher than Katsidis, and probably on the same tier, skill-wise (?:conf). JMM doesn't have the size of Morales and I don't think he'd make it. If he weren't highly skilled and durable I don't think he'd really be successful even at 135, let alone 140. But if he hurts Maidana first, with his combinations and strength...he could very possibly stop him.

I don't see either fighter being dominant in this fight but I'll predict JMM via UD.

JMM has dismantled much more technically sound aggressors than Maidana in recent years; Juan Diaz, Rocky Juarez, and Michael Katsidis.

And considering what an ageing Morales did to him, I'm led to believe at Marquez would eat Maidana alive. His free swinging, defenseless style is basically tailor made for a counterpuncher of JMM's pedigree.... and I wouldn't rule out a late stoppage either. Maidana is tough, but he isn't exactly hard to hurt or put down.

There's no way JMM KO's Maidana. In fact I'm willing to bet straight-up Maidana will win this fight at 140. Maidana is bigger and punches harder then Katsidis. I don't know if Marquez can really take Maidana's punches. I see a multiple knockdown score by Maidana in this fight and the best possible scenario of JMM winning is by a SD that's it. I really think Marcos under-trained against Morales...

Marquez is unlikely to stop Maidiana, but he'd almost assuredly mark him up proper and pound out a UD. Marquez is simply too accurate and too gifted a counterpuncher. He'd make Marcos miss repeatedly, and with each miss, he'd punish the pride of Argentina. :good

I agree with Boxed Ears and NotAnMMAfan, I think Maidana applies the pressure and stops him. Can't really see him winning a decision over a technically sound fighter like JMM though.

I also think Marcos is going from overrated to underrated based on his mediocre performance against Morales. Like many here I think he expected to blast him out, and wasn't prepared for how fired up and well prepared Morales was.

Either Marquez by decision or Maidana by stoppage. Right now I'm leaning towards the latter.

That's what I'm seeing. He took two champions down to the wire, beat two top up and comers, one a future champion, and now a win is basically being treated as a loss and the rest of his career up to this point invalidated by some. :conf
