Like always El Dinamita gets overlooked even as a featherweight. At 126 Marquez was a whole different fighter. We all know Morales' style so im not even going to get into that but a featherweight version of marquez was very economical, he wasn't the figher that he is today who's much more willing to take chances. He was more of a pure tactician than a boxer puncher and against a macho fighter like Morales, he would certainly utlilize his counter punching ability to outbox morales. He wouldn't be foolish enough to get into a toe to toe matchup, instead, he'll take advantage of Morales' aggressiveness and just outsmart him to a MD. But then again, Morales at 126 was a superstar so there might be some bias judging with Marquez getting jobbed.
Same here... Am a big fan of JMM but if an old past his prime MAB almost beat him can you imagen a prime MAB or Morales?
Barrera wasn't the only one who was past it when he fought marquez. They were both aging fighters. Marquez' prime ended after the first pacman fight imo.
I know Marquez is not getting much younger but MAB sure was way more past his prime then Marquez when they fought.
JMM would have a speed and quickness advantage.....Id even say Marquez may even hold the power advantage at 126 lbs.....Morales certainly was'nt the destroyer at 126 lbs that he was at 122 lbs. ......but the thing that makes me quite confident that JMM would emerge victorious.....is the stamina issues......JMM in his fights with Pac took the late rounds and seemed the fresher of the two in both those fights...... .....while Morales was a fighter that lost steam down the stretch in all three MAB fights, and all the Pac fights, which includes the first Pac fight that Morales won. I like JMM by a comfortable decision. Funny that this fight may still take place if all goes well for JMM against Juan Diaz.
