so we all thought.... PRE-Hatton getting brutally sparked the way he did.

Now, when you're considering 'retirement'. The only way he'll fight a top-10 p4p guy like Marquez is by rebirthing and rallying for 2 or 3 great performances (inc. 1 against a blown-up lightweight as a comeback, bounceback fight.../Katsidis!)....

but it won't happen..! It's Katsidis/Khan/Witter. Those are the options on Ricky's table. Not Marquez anymore..!

    Hatton will retire, I'm sure.

There are still plenty of options available to him though, regardless of what Americans may think.

Anyone willing to come over here for a payday?

If so, the fight could end up happening.

His days of topping bills in Vegas are done, however.

My picks are Khan (assuming he beats Kotelnik), Witter (assuming he beats Alexander) or Marquez (assuming he loses to Mayweather). All sound like great fights to me.

Another ******ed Asero thread. Hatton has been starched enough. Like I said before the last fight, he was already damaged goods. He doesn't need to get knocked out again. Marquez is still numero uno at 135 even if he loses. I don't see what would be the point of a Hatton fight now.

Marquez destroys Hatton regardless of the outcome of a Mayweather fight. Never happening though - Hatton's more likely to retire than get a fight with a Top 10 P4P fighter.

Marquez will happily come over here & it was something looking very likely (before we saw Hatton get sparked in the brutal manner he was that night!).

If Hatton WANTS Marquez... the fight'll happen.
I just don't think he wants Marquez right now. If Marquez loses to Floyd (likely...), he will focus on either 135 (taking care of Valero possibly) or 140 (winning a major title.. and becoming the first 4-weight Mexican world champ)... and from there I'd see him continuing to chase Pacquiao while possibly detouring via Cotto (on the weekend of that Puerto Rican parade).
