This is as meaningful fight as you can get. No matter the winner you get Pac vs PBF or Pac vs JMM III. Perfect fight for boxing even if I do want Mayweather vs Mosley to see if Mayweather can beat a truly elite WW.
how can it not be meaningful if its a tune up for pac,,when marquez has given pac trouble twice? I think its a perfect build up fight for (possibly) floyd-pac or pac-JMM 3 meself
Pointless... He could have wait for the winner of Pac - Hatton. If Hatton won, then he could just went with Marquez and nobody will be bothered talking about this. Now that Pac won, they could be on negotiation right now and we could watch the fight happen before the end of 09.
i think this is a mismatch. but be prepared to get backlash from the floydettes who insists that they are the same physically. i got into an argument with a floydette who insisted that pac is bigger in some aspects compared to pbf when in fact pac and jmm are truly the same size, height built. jmm was placed in a lose lose position wherein he ran out of quality at the same time moneymaking opponents. that is why he had to go up and challenge pbf who has fought as high as 154. this is not similar to pac-dlh since dlh was the bigger but older man. here, jmm is the smaller and older man. odds are stacked too much in pbf favor. i see a juanma-penalosa outcome for this fight.
It's pointless right now... It can have some meaning if a HUGE upset happens - meaning JMM defeating PBF but I just don't really can't see it... This is just a tune-up fight with PBF, a heavy 4 to 1 favorite expected to win this one... I just hope the winner will eventually fight PAC... .
atsch if Floyd fought Cotto or Mosley after they were coming off an 18 month layoff, you would be freaking out.
It's truly meaningful in a boxing sense if Marquez wins or Floyd knocks him out, because everybody and their grandma has chalked up a Floyd UD as a mere formality to lead into Floyd-Pac.
Well do you happen to know that for a fact?.. because last time I saw JMM moved up in weight he was knocking the **** out of 2 of the best lightweights in the world. He may or may not be able to move to welterweight with that kind of success, but after seeing Manny do it I don't think it's a complete impossibilty, and who the hell are you to completely rule that out? Nostrodamus?
Void picked Marquez because Marquez is small, plus Void will have his referee and judges to protect him. All Void has to do is be standing at the end of the fight.
Wonder why most of the people calling it pointless are some of the biggest Pac fans on the broad, and the others are pure floyd haters.
