I pick Chava by a close decision due to his stamina and chin.

Sanchez. Best ever in his weight. Remember the fight against undefeated superpuncher W. Gomez?

    Sanchez by UD

Marquez is a similar fighter, but when it comes down to it, I think Sanchez did more things better.

You do know that Gomez was a Superbantamweight who moved up to feather lost and moved back down.

Sanchez was a complete fighter too. A very smart boxer/puncher who systematically dismantled his opponents. IMO the best fighter to ever come out of Mexico.

He would've went down as the greatest Mexican fighter ever if he didn't die so young. I can't believe how good he was and who he beat at just 23 years old. Imagine how much he would've accomplished by age 30.

I would pick him over Marquez UD.

Sanchez beat Gomez right...But everyone of his fight defending was a struggle. His fight with a young Azumah was very close..he had a couple of lackadaisical defense also///I think as great as Sanchez was his death gave him more of a myth. I remember in the early 80's they had this mock fight with Arguello...at the time 90% said Arguello now that SS is dead, people will say Sanchez.

I think JMM can counterpunch him all night and beat him

Ok I exagerrated but JMM can beat him.. Im saying this as someone whos not a JMM fan..

But if you want to be objective Sanchez's biggest fights were over a Jr. Feather (Gomez).....a defenseless slugger (Lopez)....& a FUTURE great, substitute 13-fight "veteran" - Azumah Nelson.

Do any of you know how ordinary he looked in more than half his defenses ?

    he struggled.

Please...see his fights with - Pat Ford, Ruben Olivares, Pat Cowdell, Rocky Garcia...for proof.

And I dont know if you recall this what I mentioned about Arguello..I mean they did alot of mock matchups between the two. But now SS ranks higher than Arguello in some lists?:huh This is the greatest fighter at 126 we're talking about. Yes hed beat Pac...

And you know what galls me is when some insinuate that SS was greater than JCC. Are these people on CRACK??

Would have, could have, should have..Again he had a war against a green,, GREEN substitute Azumah...

Completely agree with everything.. Hes a Money fighter no doubt...But regarding Nelson... the more I see that fight against Sal and how Azumah was in his prime...He is one tough leathery MOFO.

And I dont want to come across as disrespectful but if you a analyze Sals fights and style objectively..theres no way he's top 50 in some of these list.

One thing about Arguello, seems like no one remembers him...even at recalling some threads not many for the thinman:-(
