Valero never fought anybody even close to Marquez level. The best name on his record is DeMarco, and he didn't look a million bucks in that fight.
He may well catch Marquez early, and even drop him but he wouldn't finish him, Marquez is too smart. He'd adjust and Valero's agression and counter with uppercuts. I think a bloodied Valero is pulled out by his corner in 11. The gap in skills is too great.

 

Valero looked very good in the fight against DeMarco. He outboxed the rugged boxer, even with a nasty cut on his forehead from a DeMarco elbow. And we know from the Linares fight that DeMarco is legit.

Valero was faster than Marquez, he had more power, he had better reflexes.

Valero is also slower than Katsidis and Diaz, not to mention that in terms of technical skill Katsidis and Diaz are better. Regardless, it will be a great match up.
