I would rather see Valero vs Pacman but Marquez vs Valero would also be interesting. JMM is a much more schooled Boxer than Edwin Valero he is just mainly an aggressive wild knockout artist. JMM wins late knockout.

Mayorga is ten times better than Valero. His punching power has been proven against top level guys, and he has mixed with better opposition.

Seriously, Valero has looked awful even when knocking people out in the first round. He clubs people down, and not even in a George Foreman destructive way, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of power, he has awful footwork, plods in, plants his feet, wings wildly and the bums go down.

Took him 10 rounds and a severely knackered B+ level fighter in Mosquera for him to stop a fighter above journeymen level. In a fight he was dropped in himself. Mosquera lasted the early rush and by the end of it Valero was winging in slow motion.

His last three fights have gone much longer than 1 round. And the competition is still pretty pathetic.

Genuine punchers like Jackson (K.O Norris 2; K.O Graham 4) Gomez (K.O Zarate 5) Foreman (K.O Frazier 2) and Naseem Hamed, knock their opponents clean out, and decent opponents at that.

Valero, the supposed big banger, stops B+ level fighters (or the one he has fought in 24 FIGHTS AND 4 WBA TITLE MATCHES!!!) with clubbing blows that are not only telegraphed, but allow his opponents to get up or writhe around.

Hurtful? Yes. Destructive? Against medicore opposition? Sometimes.

Against the likes of Marquez and Pac, he doesn't land. Against the likes of Katsidis, Juan Diaz, Hell, David Diaz I would pick against him.

Tony DeMarco seemed to have pretty good stamina, fast hands and knew how to throw straight punches. I wouldn't have bet against him if he had been fighting Valero instead of Kid Diamond. If anything, I'd say Kid Diamond could beat Valero.

    I sound like a hater. I'm not, I'm a realist.

^ you sound more like someone who's between a Hater and a realist...

Mayorga is 10 times better than Valero?? lol I disagree... OF course Mayorga is more accomplished to this point but in due time, Valero will be there and in terms of ABILITY, Valero is the one who's 10 times better than Mayorga.

well, let's say we put Valero up against his respective contemporaries.

Maryoga-Beat Forrest (x2) lost to DLH, Mosley, Tito.

If you put Valero against, say JMM, Nate Campbell (as of about a month ago) and Pac, I doubt he would do any better than Mayorga did against his rivals.

Mayorga is a good, durable guy for a comeback fight who basically dines off the Forrest wins.

Valero wouldn't be able to come back from the kinda' beating JMM or Pac could dish out to him, and being dropped by Mosquera and winging away wildly doesn't make him better than Mayorga. Mayorga, whilst wild as Hell, is also unpredictable an tricky.

Valero telegraphs his punches. Mayorga will throw a little flurry then BANG. Mayorga, way past his prime did well against Mosley until the final round. I couldn't see Valero outhuscling even (a fellow older fighter) Casamayor at the moment. Put it this way, Casamayor wouldn't need a last-second K.O to beat Valero, even at this stage (not as fresh as Mosley) Casamayor would beat Valero.

I'm kinda' clutching at straws here man trying to make worthy comparisons, I hope you see what I'm trying to get at :good

valero takes dinamita by KO. more power and faster than Diaz. If JMM had trouble at the start, valero can finish him off

Valero would get embarrassed against JMM. An unproven wide power puncher vs arguably the best counter-puncher in boxing and the consensus P4P #2 fighter in the sport. It's not gonna happen anyway, but if it did, I wouldn't expect Valero to go more than five rounds.

JMM KO's Valero , too careless for me. A loss will probably improve his defense much like what happened to Vic.

LOL Valero... I have to admit that even though he fought C-class boxers his power is real. But his skills and defense is below average. All he has is his power. Manny's speed will take away his power and Marquez's counter punching ability with also take away power. I'd rather see JMM vs MP 3. Valero is still a nobody and JMM and MP will put him in a coma if he fight any of the 2 P4P.

I see this fight being like pac/marquez 1 with a twist.... I see marquez getting dropped... and dropped early.... He was bothered by Diaz's punches early on and Valero is more of a puncher than Juan.... However I do see Marquez making a comeback.... Taking advantage of those wide shots and eventually stopping Valero late... Unless they go toe to toe.. punch for punch then Edwin can change the fight with his power... Until then, Marquez might come out with a stoppage or a decision... I think it may come down to how MArquez reacts to Valero's power.... If he taste it and doesn't like it, does he sharp shoot threw those wide shots for most of the fights with some occasional inside fighting.... Either way, it would make for a compelling fight....

Pitalua is gonna test Valero's chin.....

Valero's best chance is in the first few rounds because after that his chances will go down dramatically. On the bright side, JMM might outland Valero 4 to 1 but all it would take is one big shot to floor JMM at which point Valero will not be letting him off the hook. Valero is also a pretty quick starter so that's where his optimal opportunity lies.
