This is not an excuse but the thread title is mainly to get people in here to discuss something.

Can we all agree that the signs were there when he fought Diaz who gave him quite a bit of trouble until he walked in to one and has since gone on to have a very close fight with paulie.

Is it so hard to think that jmm was not as good as we all thought ? Jmm's best wins were against shot old champions like casamayor and barrera.Okay so he had some close fights with pacman but other than that he really hadn't done anything amazing and that even starts a new train of thought about how pacman is overrated.

Now so no disrespect to paulie but I don't think hes even a champion let alone an elite.
Which brings me back to the diaz fight if jmm is struggling and I use that term loosely not exactly a dominant performance over the vastly overrated diaz who then and I repeat myself here arguably lost to feather fisted very average paulie.

This puts in to perspective exactly where Jmm is in the grand scheme of things.

And I agree with many others that had JMM fought any of the current top 5 or so welters he would have been out of there fast.
Jmm got to #2 p4p in many peoples eyes by being competitive with pacman many moons ago and beating diaz.

It's so easy these days to get carried away and put people on a pedestal seriously why was jmm p4p#2 ?

All this leaves me to believe that Jmm & pacman have been vastly overrated when infact all they have done is beaten shot old fighters jmm beats a shot barrera and casamayor, pacman beats a shot oscar and hatton.

Sorry but pacman cannot live with cotto let alone floyd.

    Burn in hell idiot.

Listen I saw a completely different Diaz fight then you did, which is the start to this stupidity. Diaz has the perfect style to out muscle and trouble a counter punching boxer like Marquez. Plus he has a big size advantage because lets behonest if it wasn't for his desire to chase big money fights Marquez would still be fighting as a slightly undersized 130 lber. So yeah Diaz was gonna have some good moments but Marquez was handling him pretty easily. Not getting hit with anythign of consiquence for most of the fight. He broke down Diaz and then knocked his ass out. I hate how pople think that Diaz just folded when he saw his own blood. Cause he was getting beat up long before that. Also last night letst be honest what we saw was a very good boxer against a faster more athletic great boxer. Floyd's skills and size were always going to negate Marquez's own and he was going to be left looking really bad. If you don't realise that then you don't understand styles. Finally I was pretty impressed by Marquez through the first five rounds because of the poise he was boxing with and the way he was limiting Mayweather's Right hand with his movement. Also after Mayweather landed the left hook he pretty much caught most of the with his gloves for and even landed some counter hooks of his own when Floyd tired to use the punch a again in the flowing rounds. (I'm guessing you didn't pick up on this). I mean I'm not saying he did well and by about the 7th round Floyd had him pretty much completely figured out and I did start to get bore by his lack of willingness to knocked Marquez out. But there were plenty of times early in this fight where I found it a pleasure to watch this guys brain at work (It always is).

Marquez was No. 2 because he practically went even with No. 1 twice, and then moved up in weight to become the lineal light-weight champion with two consecutive KO's over two of the best the division had to offer (Casa was old, but he was still the champ). And also, when I watch Marquez-Diaz, I see Marquez wearing Diaz down over the course of the fight and finishing him off beautifully, not just landing one big bomb to change the tide. He methodically broke Diaz down with sharp, precise counters and body punching.

Marquez isn't overrated, it's just that Mayweather is THAT good.

Everyone calls Floyd's opponents overrated AFTER he beats them. One can only guess what the *******s will say when Mayweather completely dominated Pacquiao easier than any of his 40 previous opponents.
