Very good post!!!!:rofl JMM and Pac both jump from 135lbs to fight WW...But floyd cant even fight someone his own size, let alone 2 weights above him... If the TS calls JMM and pac overrated, then that makes floyd ***** and a fraud!!! If I have to choose, I would rather be overrated...:smoke
We don't really know if Floyd can beat an elite Ww. Judah, Boltimir and Weight drained Hoya--and hugton.Come on now. There's clottey, there's cotto and margarito. He quit boxing and came back to fight a 130 pounder he was indeed specatcular. But many Ww woulda smashed that bloated Marquez. Hopefully this is a one of,and Floyd either fights. Ww or Pacquiao.I am a Marquez fan but he is not the young man he once was he is clearly past it.And the weight issue. **** man, Floyd deserved credit for his performance no one can bag him for that. I am impressed. No one is dissing his skillz and defense very impressive.Weshould however criticise the kid for his opponents selection very very low for Floyd standards. He is never going to fight Clottey or Cotto..Never..Therefor stop saying you're better than ALI.
Marquez isn't overrated. He was fighting far out of his natural weightclass. He's a very good fighter.
JMM is overrated, but that farce of a fight the other day did nothing to expose why he is overrated. JMM simply isn't a welterweight and he's been past his prime for a while now anyway. JMM is overrated because he couldn't beat the likes of Freddie Norwood, got all he could handle from an old Barrera and couldn't cut the ring to save his existence against Chris John. He was past his best, but he still had a hell of a struggle with the ghost of Joel Casamayor, who had already been exposed by average fighters like Santa Cruz and Katsidis the great, and then he looked average taking all manner of shots from Juan "I have a high workrate so I must be a great" Diaz. The only possible way he was going to give Floyd a decent fight was if Floyd was ring rusty and had deteriorated since his time off. Juan's reputation rests largely on his performances against Manny Pacquiao, who is one of the most overrated fighters of all time because of his ability to close the careers on shot fighters and business charlatans.
Yeah yeah.......maybe you can open a thread here in the general forum to lecture us all on how Pernell Whitaker unlike Floyd Mayweather had the offensive audacity to be and fight great!
Scientist actually has a vast knowleadge of the sport and knows his boxing history better than anyone here in the general forum......but he lets his blind love of Pernell Whitaker effect how he views current fighters fighting today.......he gives current fighters today little respect and whether its his intention or not, he gives the impression that all fighters should be measured by Pernell Whitaker's overall abilities.
Please anybody who doesnt remember, just go back to posts from Saturday evening and before and check out how half the posts have changed from Marquez is too much of a warrior for Floyd and he's going to give Floyd all he can handle to he's overrated and he's too small. You've got to love the gift of hindsight.
The facts are that not many people picked JMM, but there were quite a few, myself included who were of the belief that Marquez could make it competitive if Mayweather came to fight and was more aggressive...... Unfortunately for us, Mayweather was Mayweather......defense and offensively not overshooting his punches which only came in one's and two's. Lets be real here, the vast majority of the forum knew that Marquez at 36 and climbing two weight divsions to fight Mayweather, had a very long shot at victory. Just look at Bernard Hopkins.....he lost to the quicker, faster fighters in Taylor and Calzaghe who have nowhere near the quickness, speed, and skill of Mayweather jr.
A little. However he was against one of the fastest guys in the world and a natrually bigger man. Speed kills and it is hard for a great small man to defeat a great bigger man.
Have you actually checked the previous posts or are you basing your comment on your opinion now after the fight has had a chance to sink in. About a month ago I'd say 1/5 had marquez winning but by fight night I'd say that had double. But now after the fact it like 1 out 10.
JMM is overrated as a welterweight!!! Make that distinction. Wait, how about JMM is not even rated at welterweight, make that a bigger distinction. He has not had any single fight at that weight if you know your boxing. Now if you do not still know the difference, you really are an idiot.
