silvermags, where in my comments did i ever say marquez's resume was better than pacquiao? on the same token, pacquiao's resume seems to me to be a little bit inflated by beating an older, washed up oscar larios who came up two weight classes to fight pacquiao. the barrera fights were really good wins so i'll give you that. the morales trilogy however deserves a little bit more scrutiny. here's morales coming off a loss to barrera and he fought and beat pacquiao. in their rematch, morales was coming off a terrible embarrassing loss to raheem (something). morales was a semi-shot fighter then and in their third fight he was a completely shot fighter. pac/marquez I was a horrible decision by the referees. how can you give pacquiao the draw when he lost like 9 rounds to marquez? the 2nd fight same thing. marquez beat him even more profoundly. since then, pacquiao has beaten up mediocre, washed up fighters like david diaz and oscar. i'll give you that the hatton win was impressive but you don't think marquez would have beaten up on hatton as well? and how many challenges has pacquiao backed down from? let's see, joan guzman has been calling his name. when juan diaz was champion he called out pacman's name numerous times but instead, pacquiao went after the ever dangerous david diaz when he could have fought casamayor, marquez again, juan diaz, nate campbell, humberto soto etc...and talking about rematches, why didn't pacquiao want anything to do with marquez after their 2nd fight? marquez even went to the philippines to call out pacquiao in front of all his countrymen and still pacquiao would not fight him. you might call pacquiao the best p4p fighter of all-time, i say he's alot of hype who cherry picks his opponents. marquez NEVER cherry picked his fights as he will fight anybody as evident of his last two great ko wins and his fight with mayweather jr. win or lose against mayweather jr., marquez will have showed pacquiao how real fighters fight and not by cherry picking their way to an inflated record.
JMM does not, and will not cherry-pick like Pacman. He also showed he the superior fighter between the two.
These threads are stupid. JMM's resume is very VERY solid. This whole "Pac fan strikes first then JMM fan responds" routine is outdated.
I agree...This **** is really getting pathetic...Why cant some fans just take it for what its worth...both Pacman and JMM are solid fighters so whats really the point of this shitty thread?:conf
because a JMM fan started a thread saying pac's hype is greater than his resume so a Pac fan then started this thread.... I wonder what would it be like if pac fans and jmm fans are in one room arguing........:fire:fire:bbb :!::!::dead
best post of the thread. No bull****, nice & simple. Also, not to mention the way Morales & Barrera wanted no part of him for so long (and I was a huge fan of both! But it's true) while Naseem Hamed shied away once he'd seen enough of JMM (while it is true from what I understand that JMM did turn down a fight with Naz, quite early in his career -- too young, HBO reported it on one of their broadcasts iirc). Like I said, "hype" (and ofcourse it's attached-at-the-hip-brother, "overhyped") have never really been in the same room as Marquez.
This thread is bull**** just like the Pac thread. :-( JMM and Pac are both great fighters, end of story.
My point exactly...People like Snell (who started this shitty thread) gives a bad name for honest Pac fans...:verysad Both thread startes (of both JMM and Pacman threads) need to kill themselves!atsch
Lets see he fought PAC to a draw and lost a split decision One judge saw him win the fight. These are the reasons there will not be a third fight. He beat the best lightweight Diaz and Casamayor fighters by KO. Casamayor had never even been dropped prior to the fight.
