Definitely hard to watch. The thing that worried me most, besides Pacquiao looking so damn fast and mobile, was Marquez throwing looping overhand rights all over the place. Pac landed a few counters and I was getting worried that this fight was going to play out like many thought the 3rd would...JMM being overaggressive and off-timing at 147 at 38/39, Pacquiao having become a better boxer using his speed, countering an aggressive Marquez and putting him on his ass...It was starting to look like that. Manny was looking really good, I was impressed. The knockdown (which itself was a shock; I logically knew it was possible this time around, but still) was starting to look like a false hope. After getting busted up in 5, Marquez was still leaning into his overhand rights that Manny was blocking or stepping away from. But then it happened. And that's all that matters now. But I hope Pac doesn't retire. I wouldn't blame him if he did, but he clearly still has much to offer, what a damn war!
:smoke He got hit while already on his way down from triping over MARCs foot . Thats why he got starched . Check the overhead vidio .
Definitely agree on him not retiring. Thought he looking quicker and livelier than he has in quite a few fights. As you say, definitely still has a lot to offer. Not sure I want to see JMM/Pac 5 though, perhaps purely for the selfish reason that logically, at some point, JMM's age is going to catch up with him and he just won't be able to handle that speed.
atsch None . But the trip is a fact . And that would be the reason for the extra impact . Also a fact .
Super Coach Feddi Roach obviously never watched the youtube video going arounf recently of Marquez knocking down one of his sparring partners with that EXACT PUNCH. delighted for Marquez, he's a fighters fighter, no frills, no hanger on's, just a proper old school hard worker and humble guy. justice has prevailed
The overhead cam looks like Marquez just stuck his right arm out and Pac ran right into it all on his own. Also, time and time again have we seen the downward chin strike do massive damage to a fighter
