Different sanctioning bodies list the weightclasses by different names. One more reason the modern Alphabet quagmire has made such a cluster**** of the sport. :yep

I'm strictly a 'Light' guy. Never touch that 'Super' ****. Somebody needs to tell Bernstein it sounds better when you say 'Junior Welter' instead of 'Super Lightweight.' Casual fans are turned off by that. Round up.

It's probably just good old fashioned media sensationalism. Who wants to see Junior Welterweights fighting when you can see SUPER LIGHTWEIGHTS!

    Light heavyweight
    Super middleweight
    Light middleweight
    Light welterweight
    Super featherweight
    Super bantamweight
    Super flyweight
    Light flyweight
Straw-weight (as opposed to minimum or mini-fly)

I just think 'junior' sounds silly.

I never say junior for anything, i'd always say light, i.e light-welter as opposed to junior welter. But where light + super clash i'd just go with the consensus, i.e Light-welter as opposed to Super-Light.

i say light instead of junior. for smw there is only one though, no junior/light light heavyweight.

    The word Junior is ridiculous...

We dont call it Junior Heavyweight so why call it Junior Middleweight or Junior Welterweight?...it is LIGHT middleweight and LIGHT welterweight - it just makes sense!

I mix them. I never used to use junior, always "light" but I'm tending to use junior now, maybe it's an American thing, I should change back, I am a Brit. I usually use
    light heavy,
    super middle,
    light middle,
    light welter,
    super feather,
    super bantam,
    super fly.

    Heavyweight
    Cruiserweight
    Light Heavyweight
    Super Middleweight
    Middleweight
    Light Middleweight
    Welterweight
    Light Welterweight
    Lightweight
    Super Featherweight
    Featherweight
    Super Bantamweight
    Bantamweight
    Super Flyweight
    Flyweight
    Light Flyweight

Before I learned the weights of each class, I thought there was a super and light for each weight group, for example, I thought Super Welter and Light Middle were different.

That's what I call all of them, I think 'Junior/Jnr' is mainly an American thing and you rarely hear it being used in Ireland or the UK(if ever).
