Jo Jo Diaz Said He Didn't Bother Trying To Make Weight... >:(

I see a fight with Tank Davis for this guy. He’s smaller, moving up (unintentionally). Maybe they can fight at a catch weight, say, 138-ish. It’s hard to stay in shape with Covid lockdown. Wife always has lots of snacks and candy in stock. I’m up two belt hoops since April. Lame excuse but I feel a little guilty piling on as I dig through the closet for my chubby clothes.

 

That’s how most of these guys do it though. The biggest cut comes just before the weigh-in. You can’t walk around as badly drained as some of these guys for days.

He ought to have borrowed Wilders ring walk costume for his stroll to the scales, that would have burned off the weight, because it is heavy heavy heavy, Wilder said so.

That said, i think there is still plenty of room for criticism. We’re talking 3.5 lbs of extra JoJo. If he was actively trying to make weight, I think he’d have come in closer to the mark. I think he likely realized he wouldn’t make it earlier in the process.

It's a bummer when that happens. But it will happen sometimes. I'm sure he's successfully dropped a lot of weight many times. When he took the fight, I'm sure he thought he could do it. I guess he'll be fighting at 135 now. I don't think he fares well against the best at that weight.

 

The way he stepped on the scale and walked of , It look like he knew he couldn’t make weight and didn’t give a damn. Interview confirmed the dude gave up days ahead of the fight date.

Completely lost respect for Jojo. MFer needs to move up in weight. He won’t cause he will get wrecked there. Instead coming in over the weight and and not giving a duck by claiming health first .

Are you serious? Not too long ago this dude looked like a fat journeymen knowing full well he has to come in at a certain weight. He’s just being lazy and making excuses for it, if you can’t notice it

 

Risking your health in order to make weight. Pick another sport. He is done.

There has been enough tragic examples already in our sport and there is more then enough info out there as talking about the risks involved with extreme weight cutting is and something needs to be done

 

Think you only giving him a pass since your a fan,Covid had nothing to with him missing weight as all fighters in the same boat and was no issues for them.
Weight cutting is tough and everyone else did the hard work,jojo barely belonged in the division and admitted to not even bothering at the end.
