Arum told a boxing writer down here that a fight with Guzman is too risky and that there is very little money to be made.

Guzman just needs to win, he should fight Valero, but match making is slow and stupid so it probaly won't get done.

:rofl Guzzy should feel lucky he didn't get the fight b/c the money wouldn't be worth the consequences for facing Manny.

B/c he brings nothing to the table. His style isn't fun to watch. He tries to look like Floyd but he can't. He doesn't have the ability, talent or gifts that Floyd has. And the Soto fight just proved he's a good fighter but falls short of greatness by a country mile.

Joan defintitely needs a win so I'm not sure why he's facing Ali who will be far too much for him.

Guzman would school JMM and Pac. Both of them can't figure out defensive fighters. It'd be a great fight tho, as always for Pac. JMM....not so great because he just throws stupid straight punches as shown by Mayweather all you'd have to do, if your a defensive wizard is show him angles.

he has had great performances against good quality opponents, the clear wins over barrios and soto show that. he is just as gifted (defensively) as floyd mayweather, he has just as good a defence and speed as floyd. he hasn't had the chance to prove or disprove that he is a great fighter because no one wants to take the risks with a guy with skills like him.

Guzman is a great fighter. I believe if he truly applied himself to the sport he wouldbe up there with the elite of boxing.

Wha??? C'mon brah.....Guzzy is good...he ain't great. He is slick but lacks the kind of talent and natrual gifts guys like Floyd and PAC enjoy in abundance. JMM is a master boxer/puncher who yes....has trouble with slick guys, but he is cut from a different cloth than Guzzy. JMM....like floyd, PAC ect are ELITE champions who either have incredible talent, athletic ablity, dedication, talent or all the above. Guzzy is a decent talent, with very good skills, but his style would be better if he was a talent like Floyd...and he's not!

I know I'm almost bashing Guzzy.....I'm not trying to but I just see Guzzy as a fighter who is flashy. I like to watch him box but when he steps it up we'll see his true class. The soto fight I feel made me understand that he's a soild champion....very soild fighter....but lacked the kind of "DNA" we see in the very best boxers in this sport. JMM, MAB, EM, DLH, Mosley, Nard, PAC, Cotto ect.....they are if nothing else great champions. Some are equally great boxers and fighters respectively. But you don't have to be an incredible talent to be a great champion. I think Joan doesn't live up to where he should be and now its too late. He's what.....35?

Based on his skills I would say he is made of Floyds cloth. He is a great fighter he just hasnt shown it yet, with elite competition. Humberto Soto is just a good jounryman , like meny have given Pac trouble in the past. I dunno how you could say he is not elitite, he is easily one of the best defensive fighters today, top ten with Mayweather and Calderon.
