Joan Guzman is undefeated and has beaten Humberto Soto, Jorge Barrios, and Agapito Sanchez. These are no chums by the way. He hasn't faced MAB, EM, Pac, or JMM, because he is a victim of being the right fighter at the wrong time. It is only lately that Guzman is getting attention, and also he doesn't have a large fan base especially in the United States. Why should these fighters risk their star status, record, and money on a low reward (financially speaking) fight against Guzman?

But based on what we've seen of Guzman, he's up there with any of them. We can all admit to that, can't we? It's just that he hasn't put it on record yet. It seems so unfair that Guzman has to take the hard road for fame and glory whereas other boxers are promoted to become great. By the way, the four kings of the featherweights that I mentioned above worked their heart out to become someone. These are not the fighters that I'm criticizing as promoted fighters.

he must prove that he was worthy by that distinction since his resume is short of elite fighters in the likes of PAC, JMM, Morales and Barrera or other champ from 135lbs since there is no opposition at 130lbs where PAC is leaving and only JMM is left behind. fight JMM first and try to fight Champ at 135lbs...

I guess what I'm concerned with is that Joan Guzman will be left out of the round-robin equation of MAB, EM, Pac, and JMM since he's neither promoted by Top Rank or Golden Boy. I've heard of suggestions for Guzman to fight JMM, but JMM has other options such as Valero, Linares, Luevano, Soto, Juarez, and Solis.

By the way, I haven't said that Joan Guzman should be HOF yet, I'm just bringing it out to everyone to discuss. It's a shame though with his talent that he isn't getting bigger fights. Good luck with him though.

If I am not mistaken Joan Guzman is co-promoted by Sycuan and GBP.

His résumé is lacking in names and buzz to enable entry to Canastota.

No, his level of competition isn't enough. To become a hall of famer, he needs to beat either Pacquiao or Marquez, along with some other title holders/contenders.

What has joan done that is so Amazing that would warrant HOF satus? He's really a soild fighter and a good champion but he isn't GREAT. He's very good. That doesn't warrant getting him in to the Hall of fame.
