    What do you think each brings to the table in this one? How do you think it will pan out?

    soto brings the big punch but guzman has all the technical skills, the hand and foot speed will be too much and soto's punches wont be landing clean enough

    guzman can hit soto with a few jabs and maybe his good left hook and get out of dodge before soto can build any momentum

    Soto is a very strong come at you type fighter, which is probably the only advantage i see against Guzman. Guzman however has the speed, footwork, defense, and is pretty strong himself. So as you might have guessed i got Guzman by TKO, the accomulation of punches will get to Soto by the 8th or 9th.

    Simple as ABC. :D

    Guzman wins early rounds by boxing and moving. Then Soto catches him with a solid bomb and slows him down in the middle rounds. Soto then push for it and wins via K.O. or T.K.O.

    "Little TYSON' . . . the clown is finish. :yep

    Guzman isn't strong. I don't know where people get these wacky ideas. He was average at 122, he's downright feather fisted at 130.

    I also think Soto has a big advantage over Guzman in terms of heart, and while Guzman can throw a lot of punches, he's not one to throw consistently through rounds (i.e. he tires, sits back for 30 seconds, then flurries again). Stylistically, Soto can give Guzman problems if he can connect. The real question is how far Guzman's defense has come along under Mayweather. If he's taken well to instruction, he could be VERY difficult to connect cleanly with, although that defensive style does leave someone open to getting caught by an uppercut they don't see, which happens to be Soto's best punch. I see one of two things happening - Guzman cruising to a relatively wide points victory, or Soto hitting him hard early and making Guzman too tentative to win, with Guzman running in the late rounds and Soto winning by close UD .

    Right now I'm leaning towards Guzman by relatively wide UD, but if you ask me the question again in 5 minutes, I could change my mind. Tough fight to call either way. I know Guzman's going to crack under pressure one of these days, I'm just not sure it's today.

    Punching power and physical strength are two different things. Guzman is very strong

    In what respect is this strength relevant then? Is he going to bench press Soto? It's not going to matter inside, because it's not like either Guzman or Soto like to use roughhouse tactics.

    His punching power is weak, his stamina appears to be overrated (due to the issues I discussed before), he lacks any kind of killer instinct, he has spectacular speed and a good chin, and he seems to be able to get by despite his technical flaws because he's quick enough to get out of the way. Still, Soto is faster than anyone he's faced recently, and punches much stronger than any fighter he's ever faced. That's part of what makes the matchup interesting though.

    Guzman may be getting past it at age 31, but if he's still where he should be and focuses on this fight, then here is a simple analysis -

    Guzman = Supernatural fighter.

    Soto = Overrated fighter.

    So a focused Guzman, do the math.:D

    Guzman UD. Soto isnt that biga puncher as people think and Guzman has an iron chin. Soto too slow for the slick Guzman. Guzman wide UD.

    Guzman has elite skills and will win a UD against Soto.

    I am actually excited about this fight becasue these two are potential champions at 130, and either one can give JMM or Pac a very serious trouble.

    Guzman seems to be the more naturally talented with his quickness and speed,couple it with his solid chin. Only concerns, and I think are not unfounded, are his stamina and lack of KO power at 130.

    And much has been said about Guzzy's schooling of Barrios but Barrios is clearly not in the mold of Soto, whose punches are decisively sharper, straighter and more accurate. Plus he has a jab.

    I see Soto constantly putting a pressure on him with his jabs and hooks, and would tire Guzman later in the rounds, (provided Soto won't tire as well). With this, it would either a late TKO or a close UD for Soto.

    Btw, if Guzman wins this, I am ready to favor him over either JMM or Pac.

    I am so hyped up for this fight.

    I think Guzman is way too talented to be beaten by Soto.

    Guzman by UD.

    Guzman is actually big for 130, that is why he can absorb those punches.

    The problem is, Soto is also big, and is an accurate puncher.
