Here's another question: Don't you think Guzman would have a better chance against a great boxer than against a great brawler? How about a boxer that can brawl, like Soto?:p

    Of course...

Might, in Guzman's case, not follow from the first statement... ...this man likes to fight!

So he caught an unmotivated, fading Barrera on a bad night and made it close? Then gets outboxed and loses nearly every round in the next and somehow that's a merit?

Barrios is absolutely superior to Juarez, he's awkward, but he's also effective. Soto would be lucky to win against Barrios, look at the minor effort that the even worse Bobby Pac gave him, Barrios likely KO's Soto.

When did Soto become a 1 punch KO hitting, iron jawed, mega skilled monster? To the best of my knowledge Soto is nothing more than a crafty, dangerous, B+ level boxer puncher that spells trouble for elite's but will never be elite.

Guzman is an elite, but let's see how he performs next.

Soto must have an excellent defense because Guz could be dangerous in the early goings. Guz' main advantage is his sleekness and handspeed and his excellent boxing skills. Plus Guz will definitely do his trademark showboating, the key here is for Soto not to get distracted and remain focused. Once Soto's power puches connect it will slowly tear Guzman into pieces. For Guzman to win he must stay away from Soto's powerful combos, he must fight from distance, hit and run and win on points. This will be a good fight no doubt, maybe better than Mab-Pac2, Mab-Jmm.

Because Guzman is just a hype job. Who did he defeat to be considered great? Until he steps up in competition, he s just a footnote in the boxing world as probably the best fighter that never, ever faced any credible opposition (and he is fast getting old too). Oh, I forgot Barrios, the slow, class b fighter, who was able to land tons of punches aginst Guzma that It was even a split decision.

Guzman seems to have an idea that he could just jump to the mega-fight without having to beat anybody. Let's see how great really is Guzman againt Soto.

Recent? The last fight was almost a year ago againstt-Rex Davis, the same guy that was starched by Luevano recently. It wa a lacklustre perormance through a UD. That was witnessed by ODLH in Dominican Republic.

Considering that Guzman is co-promoted by GBP and Sycuan, it seems unusual that Guzman is only fighting a average of 2-3 fights evry 2 years, none of which were meaningful (except now against Soto). While Juarez had three (3) consecutive fights against top fighters. Are they tryngto preserve his 0 loss column for a one-off mega-fight?

I think Guzman is talented, but I think he wasted a lot of it for years. I know Soto is going to beat him, and I'm really not a fan or hater of either fighter.

Being avoided as a high risk, no money fighter tends to do that to a lot of talents. But let's blame it on Guzman.:yep
