Why the hate for Gamboa? Gamboa is the type of fighter you like.... a nice guy who seeks to fight the very best.

Id rather have Gamboa hyped, than someone like Audley was hyped when he turned pro etc. At least Gamboa seems hungry, has skills to spare etc Hopefully he will live up to the hype

No, Amir Khan is too much hype. Anytime a fighter is blatantly obvious to have serious flaws that are not correctable for their competing at a top world class level, this is when the hype is far too much. Jermain Taylor was a classic example, hyped to be the next MW ATG and all he could do was compete at the WC level and not own it.

Gamboa looks at only 10 fights as if the only guys who can defeat him are the P4P level guys in his division, that alone is a ridiculous thought but it's likely true.

Nobody here would really favour Linares, Soto, Valero and Alex Arthur over him as it stands now at 10 fights.

    EXACTLY.

Even if an early loss occurs, Gamboa has the tools and ability like no other hyped prospect in recent history.

Most of the fighters that get hyped heavily are nothing special, look at Paul Williams as a recent one. He showed tons of flaws even against mid-level opposition.

:good Prospects like Gamboa dont come around everyday, let alone every decade, therefore we SHOULD hype him up, embrace him and be expectant of him. He has all the skills in the world, and an eagerness to be great, long may it continue:deal

Gamboa's about to exit the prospect phase and enter in the contender level within the next few months. Crushing wins over Jiminez and Rojas ought to have him as a legit contender at 130 pounds, worthy enough for a match against a Soto level opponent, or maybe a notch down in a Solis level opponent.
