De Jesus and Edwards, but Jiminez coming up is better than anybody Arthur's shared the ring with.

Come on, mate; we've had a laugh but enough is enough...

There's Gogoladze and Gulyakevich for example. Gamboa won't be fighting fighters as good as these before 2009...if he's lucky!

Mate, do you realise that Jiminez is coming off of a KO win over Anchondo and one of his losses is a close one against Huerta?

Huerta is the guy that got robbed against Diamond, he's not a top class fighter, but he's a legit top 10.

Gogoladze is a C+ european level fighter. Jiminez is a B-.

Then Rojas coming right after Jiminez is a B- fighter from 126 also, Gamaliel Diaz level.

Until he faces Valero, no one else is as good as these two guys, in the WBA rankings. Sorry, Amsterdam. Granted, Valero is a big step up and would be a very good win for a 26 year old with 12-13 fights to his name.

Do you even know what you're saying....

Go into Gogladze's record, right there in your face, TKO 6 loss to the very average Kid Diamond. Who lost WIDE to Huerta of all people.

Then go into Jiminez's record, right there on a recent win, KO 3 Mike Anchondo. Do you know who Anchondo is?

He's chinny, but he's a good skilled fighter none the less.

Jiminez is without a doubt better than Gogoladze and I would not tip Valero against him even with 2nd thoughts knowing Valero's lack of skills and chin.

Kid Diamond had drawn with Casamayor and made a good fight against Campbell after that impressive win over Koba. Since his loss to Kid Diamond, Koba improved and looked very impressive, before Arthur cut him to size.

Anchondo is chinny, as you say and Jimenez doesn't even look like such a big puncher.

Nah...I'm not buying it, sorry. Jimenez is not better than Gogoladze.

    :thumbsup

Mate, I haven't seen the Diamond - Huerta fight but he won on a MD so how is that a WIDE loss even if you disagreed with the official verdict? In addition he drew with Casamayor and has beaten Emmanuel Augustus. To call someone who has drawn with Casamayor beaten Augustus only been stopped late by Campbell and beaten Huerta even if controversially "very average" is a bit harsh.

Very good point. Its easy to just jump on board and start singing his praises. But we haven't seen him against anyone who has tested him yet. We don't know if he can adapt to different styles at top level, if he has a fighters heart for the pro game, or if he has a good chin for the pro game. Very early to be proclaiming him the next big thing. At this point its just speculation. He is merely a very promising prospect, the best in boxing right now. But STILL a prospect. There are some flaws in his game as well, but until we see him against better opponents, we won't be able to tell if he is just fightig in cruise control at this point of his career.

This thread is pretty silly. Its a match that shouldn't even be considered at this point in time. At least give the guy a chance to hit his prime, and get some experience under his belt. Even with that said, with the amatuer pedigree of Gamboa who is a natural at this weight, and the limited power of Guzman who is coming up from the lower divisions, its a bit extreme to pick an early stoppage for Guzman regardless of experience.

I say as of right now, Guzman.. I think Gamboa need's to fight some more before he thinks of a fight with Guzman.. Gamboa is too overrated here.. I dont think he's no way near ready for a fight with Guz...

Huerta basically took 9 rounds on every fans card that was not the judges and dropped him twice, how anybody could score that fight for Diamond, who was outlanded by quite a bit and dropped twice is not feasible.

And Casa's been well past his best for the last couple of years, he nearly got KOed by the even more average Katsidis, but came back and won valiantly, it was a win I personally hold highly because Casa's shot and had to use experience and will to win it, shows what a great fighter he is.

Jiminez is larger, more powerful than Gogoladze. And I've seen Gogoladze, far from impressive, only a limited opponent would make him look formidible to most, just as Khan made Limond look like he was halfway decent.

The better analysts can see through such.:p

I think Guzman is a very tough fight to any boxer in his weight division. He showed me that he is a one tough sob in his fight with Barrios.. But I gotta go with Gamboa because he is more exciting and hard hitting.
