Local undefeated slugger Julio "La Para" De Jésus has been tearing through Dominican opposition en route to eleven knockouts in twelve successes.

His countryman Ramon "Gitano" Duran is 21-4-1 (14) and has been in with better opposition but without success.

De Jésus is a MASSIVE lightweight, listed at 6'0". Like Ali Funeka with more muscle & back definition.

Duran must be like 5'8", tops.

BTW we wont miss the Telefutura card ( With an exciting prospect, Eddie Gomez because it is at 1230 AM ET ) normally it being that late would be bad but tonight it is good.

    Round 1

De Jésus comes forward whipping combos at Duran, throwing very wide but with power and missing frequently but stunning Duran when he lands. Duran tries to match his outbursts with shorter and straighter ones but is consistently backed up throughout the round. Duran is able to get some counters in but can't affect De Jésus with his own power shots.

    10-9 De Jésus

This is like the 3rd or 4th edition of Solo Boxeo in recent months to be on @ 12:30am EST instead of 11:30pm. Maybe they're shifting towards a permanent change to push the slot back an hour ?:think

    Round 2

Duran walks through some jabs from De Jésus, trying to clinch. Once they separate De Jésus loads up a big right and knocks Duran's head back with it. Duran is badly rocked!!!! He's having a hard time recovering, and just moving back in a straight line!! De Jésus comes on, whipping shots at him!! Hard, wide 1-2's, over and over!! Duran is battled back to the ropes. BIG chopping 1-2 drops him hard, between the two bottom ropes with his arms flailing out behind him and his tongue sticking out!!!! Duran is up, looking dazed. It should be stopped already. De Jésus is all over him with wild power shots, uppercuts and overhands flying out every which way with his long arms fully extended! Duran takes punishment against the ropes and starts to slide down them, as it's waved off!

Now 13-0 (12) - 92% KO rate, and 77% stopped in the first two rounds...

De Jésus can bang, but is WILD. Just bombs away. Enough on the night against Duran.

With virtually no offensive technique to speak of after more than a dozen starts, it's doubtful he'll progress much past domestic level - but he could develop into an exciting TV fighter/local draw in the DR.

Through that round and a half (about five minutes of action), Duran connected with 18 of 81 - 22%.

    De Jésus connected with 48 of 157 - 31%.

Of those 48 connected blows for De Jésus, I'd say 8 were jabs. (and maybe 17 of the 157 he threw)
