OK, scratch that. :yep There is nothing modest about it. There are three people on "holding up a flag behind Joan" duty. The arena is poorly lit; it was initially hard to tell who was a Guzman crony and who was an audience member.

OK, did skinny trenchcoat guy/chubby Latin Usher just transition seamlessly from the Dominican anthem to the Colombian anthem (or vice versa) or is it the same one? ...and if so, was it penned by Iron ****ing Butterfly??? :?

Chombo has a cool three to four inches on Guzman. (Boxrec has them 5'9" and 5'7" respectively, but NO WAY)

 

Round 1

Guzman jabs and circles left. Castellano tries his own jab, but the speed disadvantage is immediately apparent. Guzman lands quick jabs to the body diving right underneath Castellano's left arm, and then brings up some short meat-cleaver hooks to the face all while stepping smoothly around to the left. Guzman drops his left shoulder low and hunkers down in front of Castellano, still circling and enticing him to come in and throw the slow jabs that are so easy for Guzman to slip or roll his shoulder by. Guzman is dancing on his toes, eager for more action but not wanting to initiate it. He seems bored with the lack of chances to counter that Castellano is giving him. Finally Guzman decides to just take matters into his own fists and starts hooking the body, chin sticking brazenly up in the air. Castellano doesn't punish him, just tries to fold himself up and get his elbows in the way of the body shots while also positioning his gloves in front of his face to defend against Guzman's lazily rainbow-arced but quick overhand rights. Moments left in the round... BIG UPPERCUT KO BY GUZMAN!!! THUNDEROUS right uppercut from nowhere, had Castellano out on the way to the canvas.

 

The commentators are excitedly discussing the date "Diciembro tres" in the wake of Guzman's KO win as he dances to bass-heavy music and celebrates in the ring with whatever red-and-gold trinket he just earned the right to pull on just below the nips, like a corset.

Could that mean his next outing is on December 3rd? TBA? Someone specific? :think
