soto is good. but imo, pac and marquez would beat him also. i've mentioned him in my previous post and is a very good win for guzman. that made me quite a fan of him. but with the way you and amsterdam deify him is really quite amazing. it's as if he will walk thru pac when marquez, morales and barrera had a hard time doing so.

No, I don't. He's a solid B/B+. But I'm sure Pac fans would hype him as A level if he beat him. The point is that the majority of boxing fans appreciate fighters who win close wars more than boxers who technically dismantle their opponents and dominate them with wide decision victories.

Pac gets enough credit. He got a gift in his last fight and even you scored the fight for JMM, yet everyone in the boxing media still rates Pac as #2 P4P and doesn't say anything about him getting a gift. These same boxing experts never talk about Guzman and don't even have him in their top 10 P4P lists.

Nah Huki my friend, 'it was a close fight that could have gone either way, either is acceptable'.

IN THAT CASE, only a draw is acceptable, because that would mean neither did enough to take a clear, but close victory if you can make a case for either.

There is no such thing as being a credited winner in something that's basically a dead even ending.

However, for people who CAN score, JMM 8-4 and 7-5 clearly was the general score, meaning that he definitely did enough to be determined as a clear victory and the best you can do for Pac is a draw.....

Well, that's why he's recieving no credit for 'the victory', he's still ranked P4P and gets credit for being competitive with a top fighter in JMM.

I scored the fight for JMM..my problem isnt with JMM..its with Guzman...he just needs to be tested a bit more.. Soto aint PAc..Soto was a stiff with a hard right...total mismatch in style..Calderon will run circles around this guy if they fought as is

130 is a very top heavy division..Joan/Soto was an elimator for that "elite" level..now it doesnt stop there..Guzman needs to make something happen soon and thats by blowing out Arthur who is top 10 in this division lol. Get noticed.!!.the Barrios fight actually lowered his stock..he tried too hard in that fight

But would they dominate him like Guzman did and make it seems so easy? We don't deify him. We just don't need to see fighter A beat name fighter B to rate how good the fighter is. We have eyes and we use them. Guzman wouldn't have anywhere close to as many problems as Pac had against JMM and that's a fact. ****, I wish more people demanded this fight.. it just pisses me off talking about it knowing it won't happen.

Dominating a high B level fighter is enough to rate someone a high A level. To me, dominating Soto is equivalent to narrowly beating JMM.

He will blow Arthur out. The Barrios win is another underrated win, since Barrios is extremely underrated and would give a ton of top fighters problems back then. What do you mean by "he tried to hard in that fight"?

That was coming from teh horses mouth DLH..Guzman trying too hard for the KO to impress the crowd..well it backfired because he couldnt maintain the pace and clearly lost the 2nd half of the fight. That fight hinged on the deduction on Barrios,..that would have been a draw

The judges for that fight were idiots.. it wasn't close. By "clearly lost the 2nd half of the fight" do you mean he lost most of rounds 7-12? That's not true at all. If the low blow deduction didn't count and the fight ended up being a draw, it would have been a huge robbery. Anyone who knows how to score a fight scored it as a very clear, wide decision win for Guzman, even without the deduction.

Guzman came out in the first round trying to knock out Barrios and he stunned him pretty badly on a few occassions. He ended up winning a decision and not knocking him out, but who cares? He dominated an extremely tough, motivated, B level fighter without any real trouble in a highly entertaining fight.

Guzman would easily be the slickest, most defensively-skilled fighter Pac has ever seen. Pac didn't land many flush shots on JMM other than in round 3. Guzman is even more elusive than JMM. How many shots do you really think Pac's gonna nail Guzman with cleanly? The substantial amount of votes for Pac by KO in this poll is ridiculous!

Joan Guzman's gameplan will change once he feels that left from Pac.

since when did pacquiao get totally schooled? Sure he got schooled by marquez but he finds way making it close and even winning in the judges eyes. Morales schooled him but not total domination since the scores were not that wide margin.

I thought barrera would school him before back when he was at 122, and ledwaba was slick and i tought he would outpoint him in the later rounds, heck i even tought barrera would ko him and marquez would totally make him look stupid in their first fight but all that became wrong.

Back at 122 pacquiao was an unknown commodity and if he and guzman were to fight, guzman would not worry and perhaps think that he'll probably school pacquiao because he's just one-dimensional.

I can't really tell, but i'll go with pac by KO..pac got that element of suprise back then, thats why he KD marquez 3x during the first round because he was not known like the fighter he is now.

He didn't get schooled but he was gettin' killed by a guy named Hussein at 122. Pretty dirty fight though..

I don't know if comparing Hussein to Guzman is doing this thread any justice.

    GUZMAN UD Pacquiao

Although Pacquiao has the much better resume, as someone pointed out, Guzman has faster hands and feet than any fighter Manny has ever faced and considering Manny was outboxed by Marquez, it's the most likely scenerio that Guzman would do the same. Pacman edged the Marquez fights due to knockdowns, but Guzman has a proven chin. He'd have to knock Guzman out to win the fight and that isn't the most likely scenerio.

what happened to him? was he suspended bacause of that dirty fight?
or did other promoters didn't want to put their fighters against sanchez?
