Hmm... interesting matchup. The fight would end in a knock-out.

Maidana stoppage. Guzman has probably never faced anyone with this kind of power.

I do not understand why people are making such a big deal about Guzman. He looked good facing a low lever opponent. I know Maidana just got a schooling but even then he is a better fighter than Guzman.

Did you guys forget that Pavon was still landing on Guzman. Only reason nothing happened was because of the size difference. Im sure there was a good 15 pound differnce on fight night.

Maidana probably the first man to stop Guzman.

Given how shaky Maidana was against Alexander, I think Guzman might be able to KO him. Maidana's chin really didn't look that good.

Yes and are Guzman's style and Alexander's anything alike? Maidana comes forward at you all fight. This match up actually reminds me of Guzman fighting another Argentine. And this one was back when Guzman was in his prime.

Jorge Barrios. Similar style to Maidana. Pressure fighter with a big punch. He gave Guzman hell in a FOTY candidate. Take into account this was at 130 which was Guzmans prime weight and against a 5'6" fighter.
Maidana is 5'9" and a full sized LWW. He would pressure Guzman like Barrios did but being that he is bigger he would break him down eventually.

Maidanas chin and body have always been shaky. Its not really hard to put him down. Keeping him down is the problem ala JMM.

You do realize that Guzman really does not have much KO power right? He has had 2 consecutive Kos in his last two fights because they were against cans. Do you know when the last time is he got a KO before those 2 fights?
2004!! Guzman is no big puncher. It would take a big puncher to KO Maidana.

Guzman punches hard enough to get Maidana's respect IMO. To get to Guzman, he'll have to use the jab, cut him off and work under Guzman's counters. I don't see him being able to do it consistently enough to beat Guzman AT THIS stage while Guzman has his speed.

You can also just pressure him like Barrios did. Barrios is just as crude as Maidana. He is another guy who relied on his power to get things done and he was able to have alot of success with Guzman.

I just do not see Guzman beating the top fighters today.
Maybe if he shows what he did last night against top opposition I would change my mind but I think as soon as he steps up he takes a loss. Officially this time.

Ha says the noob. I remember the fight. I agree that Guzman won but Barrios had alot of success just pressuring him. And it was a close fight. I believe it was a SD with some people crying robbery. Like I said I thought Guzman edged it.

    Oh yea one more thing

    Shut the **** up NOOB!!!
