Why should he fight Judah at 143 pounds? Judah is a done fighter so fighting Judah won't do nothing for Guzman career.
Guzman did run during the championship rounds...but by that point he had a big enough lead that he could've been done one cartwheel per round (thus enabling a KD scored) and still won the fight. I just think Guzman beats Soto 10/10, Soto can't deal with people who move well and Guzman is quick with sound defense and good counter punching ability. Don't see what people are bitchin about here.
Please don't try and say that Judah has some kind of size advantage over Joan because it isn't the case. He weighed around 15lbs. more than Soto on fight night when they fought. Guzman is a big guy. A fight with Zab probably would've been his best payday yet. Stupid decision.
You're obviously unfamiliar with Guzman's weight issues. He's a big guy, don't be fooled. I bet he and Zab walk around at the same weight.
And I'm not one of those Guzman's favorites. Guzman's history of pulling out of big fights with guys like Kats, Arthur and his debacle with Campbell makes it a lot easier to dislike him. Much better than a ridiculous argument about him "running"
Dude, he fought Soto at 130 pounds in which he was 15 pounds over on fight night but that don't mean Guzman will be fine at 143 pounds. I think your reaching big time.
You obviously didn't watch the fight. Guzman was landing alot of punches and most were clean ones while Soto couldn't find the target that well.
Not really. Pacman used to do the same **** when he was fighting @ 130 i.e. cutting LOTS of weight. He was huge @ 130...just like Guzman is/was. And, we all know how well Pacman has faired @ the higher weights. Guzman could fight @ 140...trust me.
Yeah, I know he cuts off a limb or two. Doesn't change that he was only proven to be effective as high as lightweight thus far (and honestly, left his power behind somewhere around featherweight), while Zab had a whole career's worth of experience fighting comfortably at welter (and a few times at light-w). It's like if Adamek had gone straight from the Dawson loss into a fight with, say Chagaev. Sure, many think Adamek now could move up and beat some of the weaker contenders. But the Pacquiaos of this sport are rare - guys who can just jump (and skip) entire weight classes, going straight into combat with the elite without wetting their tootsies. I don't feel a guy should be admonished for not being Pacquiao.
Yes he could at 140 pounds. I wasn't argue about that. I was argueing that you think Guzman would be fine at 143 pounds vs Judah. Why should that fight be at 143 pounds and not at 140 junior welterweight limit? That doesn't make any sense and Judah is a done fighter any way.
:think Are you in the camp that contends most of Calzaghe's connects shouldn't be tallied as clean effective punching? Or do you just feel that Guzman hit air and Soto put on a defensive clinic?
