Having seen Randy Turpin in his great second fight against Ray Robinson
in 1951 at the Polo Grounds, I have always wondered what Brits think of the outcome of a Jock McAvoy against Randy Turpin fight, both at their
peaks ? Should be a spectacular rumble. Who wins ?

they both fought 'some' of the best fighters of their Era's, which was separated by a dozen years or so, give or take.

But Mac fought Bigger Top men and was a long reigning British Champion, Challenger and Hope for World Honours at his own weight, which he never got the chance at, where as Turpin did.

So in the same vain of hundreds of other fighters, McAvoy's Story is already told!

Jock mcavoy who had 80+ ko's on his record despite having hand trouble throughout his career v the conqueror of sugar ray Robinson ???
Much as I love what Randy means to British boxing I think McAvoy would have beaten him over 10 12 or 15 rounds.the licker may hit the deck once or twice too and only the courage that he always showed in the ring would keep him in the fight.
Only the mafias stranglehold on the world titles kept the Rochdale thunderbolt from winning a world title as eddie risko found out
