I think that's Richard Dunn you're thinking of. He fell off some platform on an oil rig and did himself some serious damage, can hardly walk now.

Yes Richard Dunn did have a bad accident on the rigs. There was an article last year though about big Joe suffering badly with his back.

 

going in there and boasting to the 'celebs' that he was the 'heavyweight champion of the world'
