I most remember his loss to Bruno in the late 80's, but he'd slowed down a good bit from the mid 70's Ali Frazier days. He was really fast back then.
Well the thing with Bugner was like said he was a Hungarian immigrant so wasnt British through and through and was basically a big athletic bloke that stumbled into boxing because he realised he could make money from it. I think he previously held the national record for discus. A combination of beating Cooper and happily obiliging in playing the "bad guy" guaranteed him paydays but also hate from the British public. His survival skills meant he could last 12 with top operators and come out the other side unscathed but because we are British we like to see our guys go out in a blaze of glory rather than Andre Direlling it all night so he never really endeared himself to British fans Hence his eventual move to Australia
