If This fight had taken place in 1980 Bugner , tough, experienced , was hard to stop. Not a big puncher but knew how to spoil and survive. Cooney, huge left hander, was dangerous early, but still raw and his stamina and defence pretty much untested at this point. Is this... another veteran heavyweight blasted out? Or a Louis v schmeling 1 type upset? 12 rounds
I think Joe gets a taste of Jerrys power early on and takes the money and runs .Cooney on points. Unless Jerry runs out of puff late and Joe jumps on him.
Cooney all the way, in fact I think Cooney used Bugner as a sparring partner when he was getting ready for Holmes. The Bug feels a couple left hooks to the ribs and runs all night to a decision loss.
I can see Bugner using all his experience and strength to just avoid getting taken out. It would be interesting to see tho, how Cooney goes on if he's gassing a bit by the late round s and not getting Joe out of there. That's his only real chance tbh.
