Bugner -- even at the advanced age of 36 -- may have been the greatest heavyweight ever to fight as an "Australian." I don't know what the Aussies consider Bugner to be: an Australian or a transplanted Englishman? Thus, I use quotation marks.

Hope you are not having a go at Aussie Joe.

Not the fastest but fought the best.

An out of shape Joe took the best of Ernie Shavers one of the hardest heavy hitters in the game who gave Ali "White lights in his brain".

Would have been interesting if this went longer.

Certainly not GOAT any division. His best body of work was when he wasn't an Aussie, if that makes sense. For mine the best Heavyweight is Peter Jackson.

I DON'T consider Joe Bugner or Kostya Tszyu Australian. Neither of them were born in Australia or raised in Australia or had Australian parent. Yes i know they are now naturalised citizens but i am amazed that anyone would consider them Aussies.

If you relocated to lets say Germany in your 20's or older would you consider yourself German. Of course you wouldn't.

Surely if they consider themselves Australian that's all that matters.

If they want to consider themselves Australian then thats ok by me but i don't consider them Australian. It is also very very financially beneficial to them if they play up an Aussie persona.

    Just my opinion though.
