As i explained earlier regarding both Tszyu and Bugner i would consider someone Australian if they were brought up here during their childhood/teenage years. I'm sure that most of the posters in this forum were born and raised in Australia. Later in life if they relocated to Europe for example for work reasons etc etc i'm sure they would still classify and identify themselves as Australians.

What do you consider Australians mate ? and why would you consider Tsyzu more Australian than Russian.

True Joe moved to the Uk aged six when the Reds invaded Hungary back i'n the mid 50's ,This family sought refuse her i'n the UK , he got educated here academically and i'n the art of boxing , he fought something like 60 of his 80 or so fights i'n and around the London area before ****ing off down under i'n the twilight of his career ,debuting down under v quickie Tillis back i'n 86 ( I think ) . Is he an Aussie ? Well he is as Australian as Vic and Kostya are .

As far as i know his family never worked on the bins.

He was a good fighter, but did not bare his heart and soul when he could have.

Is he an Aussie ? If i moved to Oz and said i was an Aussie, it would not make me one either. Nor is Bika, Tszyu or Vic. As boxers they all learnt their trade elsewhere.

Britain had Boza Edwards and John Mugabi living in London for years we never said they were Brits.

Sam Soliman did not become a pom when he lived here for years either.

To me it's what someone considers themselves. You can't help where you're born, but like I said, it's about a personal mindset. My grandad was born and raised in Scotland, but moved to Australia after the War. I know he was a proud Australian and he considered himself as such.

I know Joe considers himself Australian. He wasn't when his best body of work was completed, there's no denying that.

Ref refuse ( I have thumbs like a blind cobbler and posting via an I phone mate) lol, on a serious note I remember Bugner saying he lost his killer instinct after one particular fight in London when his opponent died shortly after, maybe that's reason enough not to bare your heart and soul .

So you consider Lennox Lewis to be Jamaican or Canadian then?

Bugner was a beast (not Aussie IMO) but for my money the GOAT Aussie boxer would be Fenech.

I would say his heart is in Jamaica. We supported him, grudgingly, i cheered for Mason and Bruno against him. But backed him against everyone else.

I would say he is more English than Bugner, Tszyu and Vic are Aussie. He was born here, his parents took him away . As an adult he returned. Is he purely English, no way, like i said his heart and heritage are Jamaican.

Boxers don't represent their country anyway, they represent themselves. We support them, but not all. Katsidis would get good support in London i would expect against any non English fighter. Because he is fun to watch and seems like a good guy.

What an ignorant statement. Once he has become a naturalised citizen of Australia he is Australian from that point on. I would even argue "being Australian" can also be retrospective; even if it took 10 years to get the official tick, his heart has always been Australian during that process so it should extend over that period as well.

Joe was one of Britain's best ever heavyweights in his prime years. When he got older, and became a naturalised Australian,he was still pretty good. Beating David Bey,Greg Page and James Tillis, was no mean feat. To those who argue that these guys were faded, well so was Joe at this point. It's quite believable that he could have won in a prime for prime scenario.

My mate lived in London for 5yrs and became a citizen so he could go back and forth and work whenever he likes.

So you consider him English because he became a citizen?
