I could also say you are ignorant for classifying Tszyu or Bugner Aussie and totally forgetting the bulk of their lives and heritage. Do you also consider Greg Norman American ?

It's just a matter of opinion. As i said earlier if these sportmen want to call themselves Australian then i don't mind but i don't consider them Australian.

    Exactly.

I love the Aussie media claiming every Tom, Dick and Harry when it suits them. Then claiming expats who haven't lived in the country for decades

I wonder if the American's consider Rupert Murdoch American because he's a citizen and lived there for over 20+yrs

I'm with Ippy on this one

    - if someone reckons they are an aussie and have the papers to prove it THEY ARE AN AUSSIE. You cant deny it its the law. It just is. You can believe what you want of course but the government and the laws of Australia say you you are wrong.

How very un-australian of you blokes to be going up against the aussie law and way of life of a country that was built on immigrants who became Australian - maybe those that dont want to beleive in the rules and laws of this country should leave :) lol

Un-Australian - now that's a term the Aussie media use to death............ how ****'n embarrassing and pathetic a term to use, it's basically saying no other nationality treats situations or circumstances like we do in this country. :tired

That big wog **** that put his finger up at officals at the wrestling is testament to that....... the term "un-australian" is outdated and a nonsense.

So basically if you get your citizenship and do something out of line it's then un-Australian :patsch No it's being a normal person.

If we live in a multicultural society it's disrespectful to use a term "Un-Australian"

beavs - you Francis and darkhorse were the ones saying that Kostya and Bugner are un-australian by suggesting they are not Australian when they have paperwork proving they are and they also define themselves as Australians.

I'm just turnin it back and sayin maybe youse are actually the un-australian ones as this county is built on immigrants who BECOME australian.

(p.s I hate the term as well - I'm just usin it to make a point same as with the the old - "if they dont like the laws here why dont they go live somewhere else" logic I here people spewin all the time - it can just as equally be applied to people who are born in australia)

Its not opinion because that piece of paper legally says they are australian. Whoever mentioned what the media refers to these guys, thats irrelevant as they have no legal implications on who or who is "australian".

so true... one day the headline reads "Aussie actor Russel Crowe wins oscar"
the next day it's "New Zealand actor Russell Crowe was arrested in New York today for throwing a phone at a bloke"
