I agree, but who really cares? If somebody thinks they can tap a bag more than 527 times in a minute then go for it. It's just an exercise, but to do that...You'd have to be in great shape, and have excellent shoulder strength.
Like I said though I don't really care. The man is 46-0, has beaten people like Kessler in a great fight, a hyped up Lacy, and Bernard Hopkins...Give the guy some damn respect!
I don't care if the guy fondles a heavy bag for 3 minutes, he still beat a legend like B-Hop who apparently isn't so over the hill yet. And again like I said people talk about his slaps. If a guy is very feather fisted all you gotta do is step in on him, and knock the **** out of him! If he can't hurt you I wouldn't see why you'd be afraid, but for some reason none of the 46 guys who he fought realized this, and did it :yep

Agreedon everything except that you need incredible strength to tap a bag 527 times I am in horrible shape and I just did excactly that to my cubicle wall to see just how hard it is. I am simply saying that it is not true that he throws 527 punches in a minute. In reality that doesn't matter, you don't need to throw 527 punches per minute to win a fight.

It reminds me of the buildup to Hatton vs Floyd when Hatton was ridiculing floyd for doing those pitty pat routines on the pads and then proceeded to get KTFO. People need to realize that how a guy trains it

Im not going to argue that that those motions are punches, but that is a great exercise if you were trying to build stamina. The endurance to do that like Joe does is ****ing insane.

The endurance is not really anything special. I used to see old ****ers at the gym on those things that are like excersise bikes but for your arms, I'd see 50 year old ladies going at them things for like a half hour. It is not difficult at all to move your arms back and forth.

Again not hating on joe here, I think that what he does in the ring matters way more than what he does in the gym but that **** is not hard.

shut up poindexter, that sort of repetitive exercise kills. **** i cant even shadowbox for 45 seconds without getting out of breath.

Shadow boxing and actually throwing punches or even slaps is very difficult I acknowledge that 100%. I also know that Joe has insane stamina. I refuse to acknowledge that moving your hands back and forth is difficult though. I am in horrible shape. I get winded walking up the stairs to my bedroom and I can do that **** with no problem.

Hit a bag like he does with force for a minute straight as fast as you can and tell me its easy.

A machine for the arms is a different type of exercise than hitting a bag. The two are not really comparable.

think of it this way. Its like being able to use an Ellipitcal for an hour for your legs, but then try to do stamping knee raises as fast as you can for a whole minute.

Its two different kinds of endurance.

Well, the article was kinda deceiving. I was thinking of full extension punches. I understand it is still hard to do. But I read it thinking that they were real punches.

that is 1636 punches in 3 mins. you set up the same thing and see if you can do it for 3 mins and post how many you manage to do
