Just wanted to let this go really i used to be a calzaghe fan, been to see several of his fights live, and thought he was a top guy once, since the lacy fight though he seems to have turned into a ****. his comments in these articles are truly ignorant imo, he boasts like he's the greatest boxer in the last 25 years, which i mite add he clearly isnt after all the cherry picking him and his mate frank did, and to be honest Calzaghe fans know it happened, Mario Veit, true champion, etc etc. anyways, i thought the guy was class up to a few years ago, i know he wouldnt give a fuk in a million years, as i've winessed his attitude to fans in london, which is very poor, unlike his mate Enzo Macc who stopped and talked to us for about 10 mins, the guy is too far up his own ass, really wish someone would shut him up now, he's definitely lost one fan
His comments about Froch not fighting world-class competition are square on the money, though. Carl, until you've fought a prime Tocker Pudwill, you really can't lay claim to being an Elite fighter.
Shock horror, Calzaghe says something this place has been filled with for months, Close the site and condemn Calzaghe immediately. ****in idiots
I really hope he fights one more time and is beaten - and I am a fan. The arrogance he has displayed since losing (IMO) to Hopkins and beating a shot RJJ is unbelievable. I also hate his father as well, a horrible, horrible man.
The guy is a bit of an ignoramus sure, many boxers are, but his fans are worse. How the **** they could get all excited about the Jones fight when Calzaghe had already said in his autobiography that Jones was shot as far back as 2004, how they could lap up that fight with the knowledge that their hero was beating up a guy that he thought was shot, to me that is just the opposite of boxing. No honour, no integrity, just easy option big money. Calzaghe fooled his own fans so he could get a payday, building up that sham as a legitimate contest just to make money. It was a sad night for boxing.
He may be acting like a bit of a knob, but since the Lacy fight he's pretty much beaten who he's had to beat. Kessler was the big threat, sorted. Bernard and Roy, while obviously not in prime condition, nice icing on the cake. More so after watching Bernard outclass Pavlik.
But he and his father can only get away with acting like that because his fans legitimize it. The Calzaghes don't believe in rematches - . What a ****ing joke. Calzaghe had a torrid time against Hopkins, he hated that fight as he hardly landed a clean punch the whole night and was terrified at the final bell. Yet for some bizarre reason, now Enzo has some philosophical aversion to rematches, that he didn't have when Joe rematched Mario ****ing Veit. They talk so much **** it's unbelievable.
The best British boxer ever BS also pisses me off!!! Calzaghe looked scared at the final bell, you are right - at the time I felt he had just nicked it but watching it again Hopkins beat him. He landed all the effective punches, scored a KD and made it his fight...... The 'don't do rematches' stuff is nonsense - if a guy deserves a rematch, he deserves a rematch. Simple as that. If you beat a guy fair and square, as he did Kessler, then fair enough, but not Hopkins on a dodgy SD............
joe calzaghes a tosser, he thinks hes great when he aint.. hes acting like he just beat a prime roy jones, hes always saying i beat 2 legends!! you beat two old men u twat
They were old true but it's not really ridiculous to boast about a win over Hopkins. The RJJ fight is a different story, however. It was a complete joke, and Joe acted like a ***** throughout. To top it off his fans compare that fight to Pac-Oscar :tired Calzaghe should want everyone to forget the Roy fight.
yh but hopkins is still old and calzaghe didn't even properly win. The roy jones fight was an embarrassment
