Yeah, what everybody else is saying - He had weak as **** hands and damaged them. I remember the Lacy fight, he broke his hands in that fight apparently too.

Enzo can be heard telling him between rounds to not throw to hurt. His technique was a great point scoring one.
i've never seen slaps on shoulders counted for any other fighter and don't care to count them for joe. he sucks and can't handle fighters who use lateral movement. that's why he struggled with reid, that's why he struggled with 43 year old hopkins. hopkins easily outland joe that fight. he may have only landed 10 punches a round, but joe's only punches landed the whole night came at the end of the 4th round and in the middle of the 6th round. that's right, he landed 3 actual punches the whole fight. 3. anyone want to prove me wrong?
Compubox from Hopkins-Calzaghe Hopkins threw 468(landed 127) http://www.***********.com/forums/view.php?pg=compubox-bernard-hopkins-joe-calzaghe Compubox from Hopkins-Pavlik Hopkins threw 530(landed 172) http://www.***********.com/forums/view.php?pg=compubox-kelly-pavlik-bernard-hopkins So Hopkins was able to throw 60 more punches in his following fight. Once again, why wasn't stamina an issue against Pavlik? I can never understand the argument of 'Calzaghe just threw more punches to outwork Hopkins'. If it was that simple, then could any half decent LHW just get himself into decent shape to throw 700 punches in a fight, and defeat a great fighter like Hopkins? Calzaghe made Hopkins miss, landed very good shots of his own, made Hopkins fight his fight, was the aggressor throughout and showed good ring generalship. I scored the bout 115-112 Calzaghe, I felt Calzaghe had very decent rounds between rounds 3-9, I remember him landing some very good straight lefts and right hooks. I thought he was winning round 10 until Hopkins faked the low blow, then he came out energised and I actually ended up giving that round to Hopkins. Hopkins tactic of circling to his left and throwing single shots, whilst it could be effective, he wasn't able to keep Joe off him, Hopkins never took control of the fight, and Joe landed some very good shots throughout. Another point was that Hopkins hardly ever jabbed, Calzaghe was using his jab throughout to set up his offence and score points.
Yeah...but Joe Calzaghe is a "Slick White Boxer". Have you noticed how many Black fighters refuse to fight a "Slick White Boxer"? They fear them. Just Joking.
Look at the stats, it also about who's in command and controlling the rounds! Calzaghe by 3 rounds!!! Hopkins is his own worst enemy and was crying after the Taylor fights and a boxer with his experience should know you have to do more in the rounds than the other guy!
It's also a proven fact that Hopkin's bumboy fans have about as much grace as him after he loses!!!... and to a White boy, the shame!!
Had Hopkins not faked the low-blow he would have been stopped - not from a big punch but by sheer exhaustion. He simply couldn't handle the pace. Plus, Calzaghe adapted mid-fight, Bernard didn't, or couldn't. Calzaghe beat Hopkins at his own game.
Hopkins was good and he deserves respect for that match, but Calzaghe was the clear winner, although it was relatively close
