When I seen the thread title Joe Calzaghe & the word bored included, I was right in there.
How anyone can defend that guy after his egomaniacal career ending leaves me scratching my big scottish head in disbelief.

He was floored by an ancient Hopkins, got a gift whiteboy decision, & disgraced boxing with his antics when he pretended he was ****ing Hopkins, even though Calzaghe couldnt put a dent in him. Followed up by Calzaghe being floored by an ancient Roy Jones jnr, bores his way to a win in a fight no-one was really interested in in the first place and then retires & decides to bring out a song bragging about how we are all going to miss him now hes gone???

You couldnt make it up. I give him credit for getting the W over Kessler, even though he was hanging on for grim death at the end. Apart from that though, his career doesnt stand up to close scrutiny.

Gonna miss him now hes gone? Maybe his father & himself think so, but I certainly dont buy into it.

I give Hatton more credit than I give Joe Calzaghe. at least Ricky faced the best in their prime, & he should be remembered as the better fighter out of the two IMO.

 

Disgraced boxing??? You really need to open your eyes. Far, far worse has been done in and out of the boxing ring and haven't been categorised as 'a disgrace to boxing'. Take that idiot, Scott Harrison; now there is a disgrace to boxing, if I ever saw one.

 

Dunky mate, this topic has been done to death, the charred corpse exhumed then buried again! I agree with most of what you say but the topic itself is boring. I think this thread was meant to be a bit of light relief, way to put a dampner on it.
