Joe Calzaghe answered FOUR questions tonight

    - Does Calzaghe have good punching power?

NO. Jones was sparked by Tarver and Johnson, and Calzaghe couldn't even floor or seriously wobble an even older version, despite landing hundreds of punches.

    - Does Calzaghe really have an "iron" chin?

NO. His chin was never iron, this is a myth. Guys with iron chins don't get dropped by Salem and Mitchell, or by a relatively light punch from Hopkins. Roy Jones Jr hasn't stopped anyone in over FIVE YEARS, and last time out he couldn't stop a blown-up welterweight who was rustier than the Titanic. Again, a single shot sent Joe down on his arse. His chin is good, but it simply cannot be said to be "iron".

    - Did Joe's biggest-cash-for-lowest-risk-possible plan work?

YES. He chose wisely to fool naive fans into believing this was a serious contest, and got a sack of money for beating up a shot fighter - a fighter he said was shot as far back as 4 years ago. Well done.

    - Is Roy Jones shot?

YES. Surely even to the last remaining doubters tonight proved it. Jones has been shot since he burned off 20+lbs of muscle in 03-04 to come back to lhw from hw, he has never been the same fighter since. Calzaghe won a UD over a 40-year-old version, whereas Tarver and Johnson stopped a 36-year-old version. Tonight, as I predicted in my earlier thread this evening, he still had enough magic to give us one really good round (in essence it was just a knockdown to the iron-chinned one rather than a whole virtuoso round like round 5 of Tarver III), but other than that he was just a shot old fighter in there, unrecognizable as Roy Jones. His handspeed for combinations has finally gone. When Calzaghe kept leaning in with no guard Jones wouldn't hit him. It was an easy night for Calzaghe after the KD, just like most of us knew it would be.

As I said all along, it was a sham fight.

I hope Joe gives Hopkins a rematch or fights Dawson next, a real fight. Despite his dire lack of power, he is clearly nowhere near shot himself.

Congratulations Roy, you have been the greatest fighter of your generation, it's time to retire, you are a legend.

Didn't RJJ wobble Tarver in the last fight of their trilogy, knock Hanshaw down, and did BOTH to Trinidad?

Calzaghe has FRAGILE HANDS and he still forced RJJ to cover up.

This is business and of course RJJ is nowhere near his prime anymore.

I feel sorry for you, man. I'm also a Pac-fan, but your consistent ***gotry in trying to make Pacman P4P number 1 is just out there.

quit lying nuthugger Roy NEVER had to lose 20= pounds of muscle. He weighed 193 for Ruiz and weighed 183 on fight night at 175 that is 10 pounds.

Even if you subtract 193-175 that is only 18 pounds NOT 20 + like you are saying. :rofl:patsch

Whoever disagrees that Jones wasn't beyond shot since 2003 to be exact must be an idiot, there's an interview with Joe clearly saying so anyway. He got the win and it was a great one, that's all there is to it, prime for prime would be a totally different story.

Where's all the glass jaw talk you ******ed piece of ****?

Roy was badly cut for the first time in his career, is beyond shot, 39 years old and close to 40 since the 6th round and was still in there till the 12th taking serious punches from a guy you claimed will drop Roy after the first punch he lands. For a fat ****** who's shaped as a dildo with a head as big as a golf ball compared to his body you should know better than talk about chins.

Your analysis goes back to where it belongs as usual, in your ass.

Roy got his ass handed to him. The guy is making up LIES about Jones losing "20 plus pounds of muscle" so I corrected him. Jones got destroyed.

Pacquiao is one of the most limited so called p4p#1 fighters ever

Besides already haven been knocked out, and getting 2 gifts against Marquez his lack of boxing fundementals is shocking and only gets away with it because of his power and speed.
