Funny, as the very first comment was from a highly respect poster on these boards and he didn't even gratify it with a proper response...I believe he yanwed to signal that we've heard it all before - which is exactly my point and one which another respected poster in Body Snatcher immediatley agreed with when I made it.

I am indeed ending the discussion here, but I'm far from dismissed. I think you know deep down you only brought up this old news to try and further irritate Calzaghe fans as they basked rightly or wrongly in a convincing victory over your shot old favourite, thats the sense in which I meant 'provocative' in.

YES. Surely even to the last remaining doubters tonight proved it. Jones has been shot since he burned off 20+lbs of muscle in 03-04 to come back to lhw from hw, he has never been the same fighter since. Calzaghe won a UD over a 40-year-old version, whereas Tarver and Johnson stopped a 36-year-old version. Tonight, as I predicted in my earlier thread this evening, he still had enough magic to give us one really good round (in essence it was just a knockdown to the iron-chinned one rather than a whole virtuoso round like round 5 of Tarver III), but other than that he was just a shot old fighter in there, unrecognizable as Roy Jones. His handspeed for combinations has finally gone. When Calzaghe kept leaning in with no guard Jones wouldn't hit him. It was an easy night for Calzaghe after the KD, just like most of us knew it would be.

As I said all along, it was a sham fight.

I hope Joe gives Hopkins a rematch or fights Dawson next, a real fight. Despite his dire lack of power, he is clearly nowhere near shot himself.

Congratulations Roy, you have been the greatest fighter of your generation, it's time to retire, you are a legend.

Agree with all of that except Calzaghe having no chin. He took some monsterous rights against Kessler and i don't know how they didnt kill him.

Again, your obsession with majority opinion and being on the same side as people you know. You are not a very strong or independent poster, that much is clear.

The Calzaghe v Jones fight did highlight issues that have often been discussed on this forum. There is nothing wrong with discussing these issues in the immediate aftermath of the fight.

Is this a wind-up?? Where the hell did I say or even imply anything like Calzaghe has no chin?! I have always said he has a good chin, maybe even a strong chin.

i think the first question was answered long ago. when was the last time anyone said calzaghe had good power?for that matter number 2, think everyone knew he had a very good chin, dunno if anyone was calling it iron.

How does criticizing Joe Calzaghe on the back of a fight I have always said was a sham "feed my ego"? That doesn't even make sense. Get a dictionary and look up 'propaganda' as well.
