Joe Calzaghe answered FOUR questions tonight

What's the difference between what Calzaghe does and what Pac does? They both beat faded legends. Pacquiao beat Barrera and Morales way past their respective primes and even lost to Morales when he was pretty much a spent force. Morales got that one last great performance out of himself to beat Pac and was then finished. Calzaghe doesn't lose to fighters who are finished. He also doesn't knock a guy down 3 times in one round and then do next to nothing for the next 11 rounds. What was that all about?

Well does Calzaghe have punching power?

He must have a decent dig on him or else fighters would have walked threw him by now. Also as a previous poster has said, he has glass hands and he doesnt throw full power shots as to protect them.

Does Calzaghe have a solid chin?

Well its better than 99% of fighters out there....and he hasnt been knocked out in 3 rounds like a certain p4p fighter i can name.

Is Roy Jones shot?

He is definatly past his prime but so too is Calzaghe you ******.

I personally think Calzaghe couled have forced a stoppage around round 9, and in my eyes he "carried" Jones jnr in what sometimes looked like a glorified sparring match.

I believe Joe's chin is pretty good, and he used to have decent punching power, but not now that he has hand issues.

What I don't understand is why it is so difficult for Calzaghe fans to admit Jones is shot. Roy is SHOT as hell mate. Joe is past his prime, but still at a pretty good level. There's no shame in admitting there is a difference there.

Did anyone else think it incredibly strange that they werent putting any grease on the cut. I've never seen that before. Judah was covered in grease and the bleeding stopped. I'm guessing they dont have the same cutman?

I really enjoyed the fight. The first 4-5 rounds were awesome but the cut was pure nasty and would have affected any fighter. I dont think it would have affected the outcome though. Joe had just taken control but Roy was still dangerous.

Let me put it this way:

As far as performance is concerned, Calzaghe gets a definite "A".

As far as legacy/credit is concerned, Joe gets a "C" and I'm being generous here.

And you said it right there yourself: Jones definitely needs to retire, when I feel Calzaghe could go on and produce at least 2 more competitive fights, which he would surely have a great chance to win also (be it Dawson or I dunno who else).

Hell no not all of us! I watched the fight with 3 scots 4 english 2 welsh. We all loved the fight and were freaking out after the first round lol.
