Calzaghe would easily be better than Skelton, who managed to at least compete with one of the champs.
I think Mijares has a better chance to beat Wlad because he's faster than Joe and has a better defense. stupid thread
Thanks. :good Whatever. I am sick and tired of arguing with people who have no intention of raising a rational, well constucted argument. And on that note, I'll leave this thread and go read some others. Take it easy mate. Welcome to ESB.
Why is it stupid? Joe has the speed and boxing skill to clown these guys, with the exception of Wlad. For ****s sake, Matt Skelton got a world title shot If he came in at 200 and retained his speed, he could beat the weaker beltholders, and it is at the very least worth discussing
IMO joe at light heavy is as big as he can go. i think his walk around weight is 180 something and unless he used steroids he is not going to grow into a heavy. i do not see him as a cruiser either.
Splattered That would happen with any credible LHW let alone cruiser or heavy....And I would also love to know what heavy Joe would beat right now....Hey maybe Joe Mesi
Chagaev or Ibragimov Slow, like to counterpunch, don't like inside fighting, not especially hard hitting. They would be the ones I give Joe a chance
jesus ****ing christ. go seek help. either that or read up on some of these boys amateur pedigree and watch some of their fights without joe playing on your mind.
Do I have to explain this? De La Hoya, a natural WW and a terrific, speedy HOF fighter just put on 13 pounds and was dominated by a second rate world title holder, Sturm. He weighed in at 155 in the Hopkins fight - just 1 pound more than in the second Mosley fight - and was knocked out by the bigger Hopkins (156 at the scales). Imagine Joe's putting on 32 lbs just to make weight and fighting 230+ lbs guys. They'd walk through fat Joe's light punches, Joe would find himself in a terrible disadvantage in height, reach and physical tools and HUGE punches would come to him breaking through his guard. One body punch would finish this fight. While these ex-Soviet champions aren't looking spectacular, they are very tough, very hard hitting, very experienced champs who would crush Joe easily... not because they are better skilled – of course not – but they are HUGE for Christ’s sake! HUGE for Joe. Just forget this sh*t. Joe's has to deal with the 175 limit and even that won't be easy... forget HW, that’s stupid. He’s facing the most recognized guy of his career anyway so there’s no bigger achievement than defeating P4P and HOF BHop.
