Joe Calzaghe better Andre Ward or Lucian Bute? Maybe not even than Carl Froch

I see a lot of Brits talking and talking of Joe Calzaghe on this forum like he was such a legend.

Do you want to know my opinion? :hi: "The pride of Wales" was one of the most overrated boxers of the last two decades. His last 4 opponents until US were not in the top of division: Lacy, Bika, Peter Manfredo Jr. (a kind of Malignaggi today) and against all he fought home.

Then in US he met "grandpas" Bernard and Roy. They both led this fantastic "dragon" before the final round when gassed out. Jones Jr was far from his prime. Hopkins could have defeated him but he was less active in those years than today, maximum one fight per year, even though he lost a split decision.

Calzaghe is a "legend" not meeting boxers of the calibre of Andre Ward, Lucian Bute or even Carl Froch. Watch the fights again, there are all on YouTube! Of course he is a legend, undefeated and high rate of fights many against clear inferior opponents.

:hey I bet if Joe Calzaghe would try to go after Ward or Bute with that shitty defense he would be knocked out easily, not outplayed because the Welsh is too offensive. Ward and Bute are masters in ring and win in style, you can barely touch them because they box from distance. I like art not street fights! And I also doubt Cazaghe would have beaten Froch, knowing Carl would be too resistent for him..

 

Don't take it personally, I just don't like Joe Calzaghe and I think he was such an overrated athlete.

I don't hate the British school of boxing and I will open now a thread for your real talents and not protected like the Welsh was, Amir Khan and Carl Froch.

 

Look, do you like street fights or art? I simply love Amir Khan, he is my taste as boxing skills. And Carl Froch is better than Joe Calzaghe ever was but he gets limited attention and respect because he is fighting such boxers like Bute or Ward and sometimes losing.
