Antonio Tarver never faced a prime Roy Jones.

He faced a 35 year old, 50 fight version of Roy, who was completely depleted after he’d burnt healthy muscle.

Yes, the fight warranted a rematch. But it was certainly no robbery.

Tarver was a very good fighter, and he’d always have given Roy issues.

    However, these are the facts:

    1. He couldn’t beat Roy in their first fight, who was completely exhausted and there for the taking.

    2. He landed a perfect punch in the rematch, and all credit to him.

    3. He couldn’t replicate that in their 3rd fight, even though Roy was coming off of back to back knockout losses, and over a year of inactivity, with no tune up.

    4. They’d have fought 3 years earlier, had Tarver not have lost an eliminator to Eric Harding.

Joe was one of the best to pick up gloves?

The guy who spent 75% of his career fighting non world level guys, and who could barely beat Robin Reid and a 43 year old Bernard Hopkins?

Many tried, but they all failed?

    1. Again, Reid almost beat him, sandwiched between his 2 losses to Malinga and Branco.

    2. Again, the majority of his opponents were literally non world level opponents.

    Please hurry back.

    We’re already missing you.

He’d literally not had a top level win in 5 years.

5 years to the day actually.

He didn’t lose 11 times in his prime.

He went 16 years, whilst barely losing rounds.

Like we’ve already told you, he didn’t fight Tarver in his prime.

    Joe never lost a fight?

    Joe hardly fought anybody.

Any even remotely great fighter could have replicated his timeline.

    It wasn’t some great feat.

How many world level fighters did he actually fight in 15 years?

Made by some clown, with zero boxing knowledge, who’s not able to apply any context.

    1. He wasn’t in his prime.

    2. The guy who you’re defending says that Tarver and Johnson only beat him because he was shot.

He didn’t have 8 months to adjust back.

He wasn’t 34 and one month.

He was about to turn 35.

He didn’t weigh 193 for Ruiz.

He didn’t put on 15 pounds of muscle.

He tried to fight Evander, and the fight almost happened.

You have no proof that he used PEDS with Mackie Shilstone, in order to build himself up.

    This is the question.

Why didn’t Joe go all out to pursue the fight, by moving up to LHW and going to America?

    But we know the answer.

Because he was just content doing what he was doing, which is why he defended a low belt 21 times, where more than half of his defences were against non world level fighters.

    No.

You have an obsessive hatred for Joe Calzaghe. Seek psychiatric help.

We’ll still be arguing this topic in 20 years.

    If we’re here.

Joe himself says that Roy was shot against Tarver and Johnson.

Roy didn’t have 10 months to move the weight.

There’s obviously a huge difference between losing weight, and burning healthy muscle.

Joe gets no criticism for an earlier Hopkins fight not having happened.

    1. I don’t have a hatred. It’s just that you’re upset that I’ve criticised a fighter that you like.

    2. Give me an example of actual hatred.

    3. You yourself are on the same threads, so I could say that you’re obsessive too.

    4. You criticise me, but can’t actually refute any of what I say.

    5. The majority of my posts consist of facts that can be verified at any point.

Sounds a lot like Tank Davis or Wilder for that matter
