No way would he have beaten James Toney or Roy Jones Jr @ 168.

It's rather sad that Calzaghe nuthuggers are now parodying themselves.

Jones beats Calzaghe but Calzaghe has earned the title of the the best ever in the 168 division. (But not in the head to head format)

does Joe C even matter anymore? guy proved he was a decent fighter but after that performance against B-Hop most informed fans know all they need to about him. In all honesty he is just another good boxing Champion. Fortunate to reign at a time when the divison was weak and he never fought a geat fighter in his prime his entire carreer.

Since Joe will not face Dawson or Kelly Pavlik and instead will face a shot Jones who cares about this anymore go on finish your cherry picking and retire.

Bull****. Calzaghe has beaten some very good fighters and he's looked ****ing good doing it. Nobody looks good against Hopkins, if you know boxing you should know its practically impossible to look good against Bernard. Add to that, Calzaghe is 3 years past his own prime which absolutly nobody seems to aknowledge and you may be able to look at this fight through some sort of prespective and know what im on about.

Dawson or Tarver are Joe's toughest challenges out there now. Pavlik gets outboxed, confused & a beatdown over 10 rounds before its stopped.

the Hop performance tells the tale ... Joey is rather mediocre ... would have been KO'd by a dozen fighters if he had the balls to step out of his plastic bubble earlier ... but he is better than the parade of lame white dudes he's feasted on for a decade or so - whatever that is worth to his hometown fans.

Its true ... Calzaghe is the greatest SMW of all-time ... a fighter that took the time to actually stay in the division.

I'm a fan of Joe's and I believe he would have beaten BHop prime for prime at 168. Same goes for Toney, probably more so.

But I'm as certain as it's possible to be in these kind of hypotheticals, that he would have lost by 8-4 or more to Roy, and a stoppage would have been a distinct possibility.

come on now...do you people actually believe that prime for prime calzaghe wins over jones?

Nobody look good against bhop but that was a past his prime bhop, way more wars than calzaghe ever had. Not only that, but you people seem to bring up that calzaghe was also past his prime..but bhop is way more past it, his age also tells that.
